We all liked the property very much. It was very warm and cosy in this stormy winter weather. Everything was quite lovely, the furniture (modern and of good quality), the bedding (so sweet smelling), the bathrooms (most rooms are en-suite!), the pictures on the walls and even the tableware (tastefully chosen). There is a very efficient wood stove and plenty of dry logs. The spacious main room, kitchen/dinning-room/sitting-room, is bright and airy.
Colintraive is so well situated in the Kyles of Bute. There are walks to suit everybody, easy on the flat or more adventurous towards the top of the surrounding mores. White sand beaches are not far and Portavadie Marina is an interesting place to visit. Of course the seal colony on Burnt Island almost in front of the house is a wonderful place to look at with a lttle boat or a canoe. We all loved going for most of our evening meals at the Colintraive Hotel next door. It is going to be hard going back to normality and our own cooking!
It is difficult to say what we liked best. This was a great break and we only wished we had been able to stay longer.
