Upon booking this, the initial circle of location was in an area closer to the Bridge/Opera House than it actually transpired that it was! Upon trying to change this Tripadvisor were proven to be a very inflexible company. However this is a Tripadvisor fault (check their terms and conditions out before booking) and our host/property owner could not have been more helpful from start to finish.
Let’s get location out of the way first - so it wasn’t in the most swanky location and initially I felt slightly intimidated by the some of the folks we met on our first walk to the bridge. That said we walked to and from the Bridge on all 3 days - a 30/40 minute walk with our 3 kids and it was a fab view into Sydney life that we would not have experienced had we been in a ‘standard’ tourist hotel. Within a couple of blocks we came upon fab wee cafes and restaurants for Brekkie.
The apartment is a lovely home from home - quaint yet spacious. Plenty room for the 5 of us. With a lovely wee garden for a morning cuppa and a brilliant shower. This really was a home from home the kids settled right in and we didn’t have to worry about them rumbling around as this house is made for comfort, with a funky homely style. With a small supermarket across the street this has everything you need. A handy 10 minute walk to the train station too everything is literally on your doorstep.
So in summary - don’t hesitate to book here, yes the location may be a little off putting BUT the regeneration of Sydney is almost at its door and then this property will be in a trendy wee suburb with great amenities - cafe ventotto was scrumptious - and you will have missed out on a brilliantly priced, very comfortable property. Where you can ‘live’ in Sydney and experience the wonderful, colourful life it has to offer.
Don’t just be a tourist - live the Aussie life.
