We took our 2 grandsons to see the ironworks and see attractions. They enjoyed exploring the sheds and listening and hearing the explanation of the site. The cottages were excellent and they enjoyed seeing how the families lived and work. There are a lot of picnic table's and there is a small cafe selling coffees and teas. This is a very good historical site to visit.

Called here after visiting The Big Pit. Easy, well sign posted parking and a very short walk to the Ironworks. Not an over load of information, but enough for you to effectively transport yourself back in time and imagine what life must have been like. The cottages were especially fascinating. A well cared for and spacious site. There is a container in the little shop for donations - I hope they get plenty!

An amazing insight into the life and hardships of the 19th century ... made even more interesting by the fact that some of my own ancestors lived in these cottages.

If you like history, you'll love this place

Went here with three young children and they thoroughly enjoyed their day out. Free admission, they rely on donations. The cottages are certainly worth a visit. Would recommend a visit here.
