My partner and I stayed for 3 nights over new years eve and it was just exactly what we were looking for.
The surrounding countryside is stunning and we spent some time exploring the lakes in the Elan Valley.
The accommodation has very good facilities and I'm a big fan of how comfortable the beds are.
The village pub is ok, the food was average but but staff and locals were very friendly.
Jayne, the owner was very kind and welcoming.
I recommend The Barn for anyone who wants to get away from a busy life style for a while with the option of exploring beautiful countryside.
We recently stayed at 'the barn' for two nights as it was my partners birthday, we were able to take our dog with us which was a great bonus. The owner is very friendly and made us both feel really welcome, she even got my partner a bottle of birthday bubbly and a card which was a lovely gesture. The property is very well kept with everything you need. We found the beds comfortable, the cooking facilities good and the heating stayed on until late to keep us warm. The only thing we could have done with was a bin in the bathroom. There was a secure garden for the dog to play in and off road parking. Theres not much to do in the village itself but great if you plan on dog walking/exploring the scenary. There is a local pub which does average food, again the owners are very friendly. We would definately return to the barn and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break for excellent value... p.s Jayne if your reading this we left a garlic bread in the freezer by mistake! hope you and the dogs are well x
