Absolutely the most outstanding experience I have ever had.
Grand Isle really lives up to its name "GRAND"
Everything from the accommodations, service, staff, to the activities and exquisite beauty of its location surpassed all expectations.

I highly recomend Grand Isles for all.

Go and have the time of your life, relax and enjoy

This was so much fun. Only 15 minutes from the Airport, Grand Isle is definitely a family-oriented resort, but fun for singles too. The villas were beautiful - especially the kitchen. It's a home away from home - everything you needed was there! I loved the Palapa Restaurant on site - breakfast was especially my favourite. The Marina is so close by you can just take your golf cart over to go boating! The colours of the Ocean are unreal - so many different blues. Grand Isle shares a beach with Sandals, so it is very secluded and never too many people around. Santana's Grill = amazing food! It's about half hour/45 minutes away from Grand Isle, but definitely worth it. Make sure to bring/buy insect repellent - they bite like crazy! Grand Isle sometimes hosts these bonfires on the beach - that's always fun to go to! The service there is amazing too - everyone is very helpful and always smiling :) never a dull moment.

Room Tip: Always ask for Ocean-View

Our family of five stayed for a week in the Four Bedroom Penthouse which was absolutely stunning! The views, the amenities, features and furnishings of this unit is second to none. This particular unit had a private elevator and sweeping decks off the living/dining area and two bedrooms. The kitchen is fabulous with a gorgeous granite island that suited our relaxing vacation when we didn't want to take the golf cart over to the restaurant which served excellent cuisine. The staff is very professional and catered to the guests. The beach is beautiful with white sand and clear blue water. There are plenty of water activities like kayaking and snorkeling and also lots of beach chairs and umbrellas as well if you prefer to relax. Beach and pool staff are always ready to help if you need anything. Sandals is a short walk away and we made arrangements to have dinner there one night (also accessible via golf cart provided). We took a day long boat tour of the cays and it was the best - one pretty beach after another - with CRYSTAL clear water that will astound you!! Peter made the recommendation and one that is a must do. It's just too bad our tour was the same day we were invited to go on another boat trip going the opposite way :( It truly is a lovely island with so much nature to behold. Meeting other guests at the bonfires were a treat and a lovely way to appreciate this little Piece of Paradise. Georgetown itself is very small and we did our grocery shopping there. Hopefully, the other store down the street is now open since it's conveniently located right outside of Grand Isle next to the liquor store ;-)

Room Tip: We saw many of the units and they are all exemplary with different decor, all high end and upscale.

This was our fourth trip to Exumas and second time to Grand Isle. We travelled with our 7 yr old son and had a fabulous time. The new ownership and improvements to the resort definitely impacted our vacation in a positive way. The bonfires, guitars and singing at the beach/pool area were the best, as that is something we love to do as a family. Emmerson did a fantastic job at entertaining the children with treasure hunts. The villas are luxurious and clean and the golf cart is very convenient. The new menus had a nice selection and the food was great! The management and staff were so helpful and friendly throughout the entire week. We absolutely love everything about this island and are returning in February to celebrate a birthday. Thanks for helping making this trip so memorable.

We stayed 6 nights at Grand Isle (11/16 - 11/22) in a ground floor room, building #6 rm # 6104.
The room had a bay view, once they trimmed the hedges. My only complaint is that the mattress wasn't comfortable and the bed creaked every time you changed positions. The furnishings were high-end and we also had a washer/dryer with 2 packets of single use detergent provided. Housekeeping made sure we always had enough clean towels, soap, and shampoo. The kitchen is fully equipped as noted in previous reviews.

Excellent service from reception, pool & restaurant staff. Thanks to Latroy, Crystal, Linda and many others at the front desk. Having a golf cart at your disposal makes a big difference. We used it to get us right to Emerald Bay beach and explore the extensive golf course with awesome views. No need to walk anywhere on the property if you don't want to. The property is very secure at all times. There were times when we felt like the only ones staying there. The beach has beautiful white sand, clear blue water and is not crowded at all.
We never had any issues with reservations at the Palappas restaurant and ate most of our meals there. The Pina Coladas and Goombay Smash were excellent provided you ask for it with a "special kick" and the restaurant manager always greeted us with a big smile and open arms. The Grouper entree and side of plantains is worth mentioning. The only drawback is that there aren't any other restaurants on site or close to the resort and the menu at Palappas remained the same every day that we were there. Consequently, after a few nights it got a a bit difficult to find something new to eat. There's a liquor store nearby and you can get to it by golf cart. Reasonably priced booze and other non-alcoholic drinks. Almost everything is closed on Sunday's.
The hotel arranged for Dimitri Smith's Taxi-Cab service to pick us up at the airport. The price is the same whether you take your own taxi or have the resort arrange it for you. We paid thirty bucks one way for two of us (not including tip). Make sure you ask them to send Dimitri and you will not be disappointed. Dimitri knows all the spots on the island and he did not mind stopping at the grocery and liquor store on the way in so we could pick up some supplies. We also called Dimitri for driving us around on days that we didn't have a rental car. We really liked him and HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for a taxi while you are in Exuma. His cell # is 242-357-0405 and all local calls are free from the hotel. He also has good contacts on the island for tours that are way better than those recommended by the hotel.

We rented a Toyota Corolla for 24 hrs, seventy five bucks plus gas - explored the island's many secluded beaches. It wasn't easy, but we found Tropic of Cancer beach on Little Exuma thanks to really good directions from Latroy. It was worth the hike. Beware that the side road to this beach is just a gravel road that looks intimidating, but doable. Just be patient as you make your way up there. Look out for the sign that says Wink's Bay Villa's and turn left off the queen's highway. There is no other sign. On the way, we grabbed breakfast at Augusta Bay resort/hotel. It was okay, nothing special. It was Sunday so Santana's grill on little exuma was closed. Most of all the other beaches have signs pointing you in the right direction and it's not an issue if you just pull over and park on the side of the highway to walk up the path. Crime is nonexistent on the island so no safety issues.

Room Tip: Higher floors seemed to have better views. Check your bed to make sure it doesn't squeak so much that you can't sleep.
