I took my three teenagers to Paradise Island for a short vacation and we stayed at Comfort Suites. It wasn't terrible, and we were grateful to get away, but there were a few problems. The toilet broke three times. The first time we called the front desk for maintenance, but after more than an hour and a half, one of my sons fixed it himself. We didn't bother to call the next two times. Finally we fixed it permanently. Our view was of a back alley with bags of cement piled up. We did not have a balcony or anything to look at out of our window. We did go to Atlantis. Nothing of the natural world exists at Atlantis. Almost everything was man-made. Even the "beach" had the booming sound of party music in the back ground. We were surprised when we had to walk the entire length of the smokey casino to get to the ground floor, so that we could begin our journey to the water park and beach area. We walked through this long winding tunnel past a huge aquarium and touch tank to get to the outside.
It is true that the lines to get wrist bands was short, and the weather was lovely. Everything was very clean. One surprise was that a 15% gratuity was tacked on to everything you purchase at Atlantis. I stood in a take out line and was charged 15% gratuity for a few bottles of water. I agree that people can save money if they bring their own food and snacks, but be aware that Atlantis is huge and you will have to lug your things around unless you sit in one spot. The lounge chairs were 4 rows deep in some places. The pools were clean and there was a server to bring you beverages and snacks.
The breakfast at Comfort Suites was ok. There was something for everyone and most of the mornings we did not have to wait in long lines. The swimming pool at the hotel was very dirty. When I say dirty, I mean there were clumps of hair floating in the pool...not small bits of hair, but large tangled clumps. The pool water was cloudy as well.
I did not care for Atlantis at all, but I think for some people it would be perfect. We prefer a more natural beach vacation. Comfort Suites was not great, and I would choose another hotel. For the money, there must be a better place.

We considered staying here on the advice of some friends who stayed at the property over Christmas Holidays. I studied all the recent reviews on this site as well. We were late in planning our getaway so I wanted to avoid blowing our budget just to make the trip happen! Overall we were happy with the hotel. It is clean, comfortable and adequate for a few days. We stayed 5 nights. Breakfast is included in your price, so that adds value. It is very basic breakfast. They offer cereals, scrambled eggs (they were real eggs, not imitation as some other review noted), sausage, sometimes bacon, bagels which were fresh, doughnuts which were terrible, "Eggo" type waffles, juice, coffee, tea. There was no fruit except bananas. They have yogurt and hard boiled eggs as well.
There were three of us in our room, 2 adults and our 10 year old son. Our room had a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. No balcony, and a view of the street. We had a small fridge and a 4 cup coffee pot. We stayed on the 2nd floor in the teens, which was very good because we were close to the exit nearest the Atlantis property. The low water pressure is kind of an issue. Sometimes you have to flush the toilet more than once to get the paper to go down, or press and hold the lever to make sure the tank empties completely. The shower is not that strong either, and the water temp is either warm or hot in spurts followed by cool. That may be a problem of the island, and not this particular property.
The pool is fine and the deck is relatively spacious; there is a small swim up bar. There is a lifeguard on duty all day. You can also get lunch in the small cafe near the pool, we never did, so I can't comment on the food.
The whole reason to consider staying here is to save a little money on the room rate while still enjoying the Aquaparks and beach access at Atlantis. So, if you need to stretch the budget, it's worth the inconvenience. You have to walk to the far end of the Atlantis property from where the Comfort Suites is to the Royal Towers lower lobby DAILY to get an armband that allows you access to the Atlantis property. All members of the party have to go, you can't send one person to get the armbands for everyone. You have to fill out a release form DAILY. It's not terrible, but is is inconvenient (a leisurely 10 minute walk, that includes passing through the occasionally smokey casino). Once you obtain your band, you can go anywhere you want. The resort is beautiful and the Aquaparks are fabulous. It's a great trip to do with kids. There's something for everyone. There is a lot of walking, so you need to bear this in mind if you are traveling with small children or people who have physical difficulty with stairs. The food is very expensive though, and its hard to find fresh fruits and vegetables. We ate dinner on the Atlantis property 2 nights, once at Chopstix (Asian) and once at Virgils (barbecue), very expensive, but very good. We ate at Anthony's across the street from the Comfort Suites 2 nights, where the food is average (my son loved the pizza), but it's convenient and not crowded. We had lunch at the various outdoor cafes on the Atlantis property, very average and overpriced. All the restaurants on Atlantis allowed you to charge to the room. Most of the shops did not, so you have to have your credit card with you AND your ID if you want to buy anything.
Also, note that the hotel does collect an extra fee when you check in for "energy use and maid service." For our 5 nights it was approximately $140.
We were comfortable and it met our needs; it's adequate but not special.

Room Tip: Second floor in the teens was closest to the access to Atlantis property. But anywhere near the pool and cafe would also be OK.

We arrived somewhat late, about 10 pm. We got a room right next to the exit closest to Atlantis. After settling in, we went back to the lobby bar and had a drink. It was really nice to be able to have a nightcap right there at the hotel. Our room was very spacious and clean!

The morning breakfast was perfect if somewhat typical. They had hot food, eggs and sausage, and the usual cereals, toaster waffles, breads and some fruit, oranges and bananas. We didn't have any problems with the hot food being gone and not refilled. The first morning we got to breakfast right before it closed up and had plenty of food.

We didn't really use the hotel pool but the pool area looked really nice, plenty of lounge chairs. We did have drinks one evening at the pool bar. It's a pretty setting, the bartender was attentive and the drinks were good.

The proximity to Atlantis is great. It was a short walk across the street and up the sidewalk. The walk through Atlantis to the place where you get the wrist bands was about as far as the walk from Comfort Suites to Atlantis. A very easy walk all the way.

Atlantis was fantastic! I can't begin to describe what an awesome place it is. This makes the Comfort Suites just a wonderful bargain! Things are expensive but if you follow some of the suggestions here at Tripadvisor, you can save lots of money.

We had a great time and would love to go back in the future. We would definitely stay at Comfort Suites.

We stayed here for our anniversary. It's right next to Atlantis and you get all access to their pools. Even for a Comfort Inn, it was pricier than you'd expect. Rooms were decent with a sitting area, clean. Lobby was ok. We spent all of our days and nights at Atlantis. If you don't want to spend a crazy amount of money, this is the place.

We saved a bundle by staying at the Comfort Suites in the Bahamas and walking a block to Atlantis each day. The lines for wristbands were one to three people long at 9-10 in the morning and there is lots of walking at the Atlantis so one more block to get there didn't matter. We were surprised that Atlantis water areas say they open at 9, but you can't get in until 10. We were, also, surprised that the pools close everyday at 5 P.M. so keep this in mind. The travel agent said that food would be very expensive on the island so having the breakfast included with our stay would be a bonus. However, I must say if you walk a block or so in every direction you can find food and drink at stores and restaurants to-go or dine in that is more reasonable than at Atlantis. In addition, there are delis in Atlantis if you seek them out. There is a refrigerator and a safe in the room at the Comfort Suites. Bring you own sunblock. It is in the $20 range and be adventureous. Take the ferry, the Nassau bus and eat at the "Fish Fry." Daquaris were $4. You can rent a locker at Atlantis but you must have your credit card and I.D. no matter what the agent at the Comfort Suites tells you. Each day I saw people being turned away from getting a locker because they did not have their I.D.. It takes both! If you can afford it, I recommend swimming with the dolphins. You will be given a time slot and can get onto the beach to wait. Be smart and go early. Use your time on that pampered beach where there are few people and you get complimentary water and a locker.

Room Tip: We were close to the dining area. It was noisy one night when a group of spring break students came in late, but other than that, it was convenient and quiet.
