The guide took our party back into a time when the Bahama Islands were under threat of attack. The guide was well informed. The views are also nice from the fort.

Tour is short but interesting. Can walk around at your leisure after the tour. Be sure to go to the top for excellent views!

We visited this fort as part of a bicycle tour....grampy and 2 tweens. Our guide was good...not great....but informative (even if a bit bored) and we learned quite a bit about the fort and its build. One great thing, even though it was brutal hot outside, inside the fort was pleasantly cool. Outside, you get to see the town and port area, as well as the hotels around Cable Beach. Nice overview of the touristy side of the island, had a very good visit.

The fort was constructed in the late 18th century by British colonial governor Lord Dunmore after the end of the American Revolutionary war. The fort has never been used in battle. The view is very humbling to all that stood upon this point. Most Bahamians love to visit there and uses the location for exercise. The muscles strengthens almost immediately while walking up and down the hill.

Our tour guide was exceptional and provided lots of history to contemplate. Well worth the two dollars admission price.
