Had a blast with our kids (10 and 8) here. 99% of the fort is open to public. Our kids had a ball running around. Great views from the top of the fort...overlooking Nassau and the harbor. For the price it was a great time.

“Historical and simple”
Reviewed 11 March 2012

Fort Charlotte is a neat little fort in the middle of Nassau, close to the industrial port. The fort is in good shape and the self tour was nice. Not a lot of exhibits or information though the staff were helpful and courteous. The view was so-so because of the industrial port across the way, it must have had an amazing view before the modern port opened.

Helpful Tip: Fort Charlotte is a 5 minute walk to the Fish Fry food area. You can walk down the grass hill on the water side and through the cricket club area, then across the street. There you can find plenty of shops for lunch and taxis to take you other places. Please note, there are NO taxi stands at Fort Charlotte, you will need to call a taxi, walk to Fish Fry (5 mins), or hope to pick up a taxi that is dropping off.

“Worth the $5”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

This is a Bahamian historical site and if you eat at the Fish Fry, just cross the street and spend the $5. Free tours are available, but they are short and ask for a tip. You can walk the Fort without a guide and there is plenty info posted. Cool views of the Island.
