This was our first liveaboard experience and it was fantastic. The diving was great. We did 20 out of 24 possible dives. Site dives, night dives, and drift diving. Experienced divers can do their own thing or follow the dive masters. They provide guided dives on all dives. Gustavo, head diver master, is attentive and professional. The food exceeded our expectations. Yari and Lindsey provided great food every meal. The boat was comfortable. The crew was professional and helpful, but their friendliness can't be overstated. They were a great crew and were helpful and fun. This is one we'd like to do again.
Not exaggerating on this. Everything was superb on this trip. From the boat, Captain Des, First Mate Robert, and the entire dive crew and staff, this trip was first rate. Chef's Kellie and Yari bang out scrumptious 5 star meals, with assistance of Candace. Every meal was amazing, and we had a birthday mid week as well, with amazing black forest cake. Engineers Randy and Gregory kept everything humming in ship shape, and we were fortunate to have very nice weather most all the week. (a spot of rain was welcome really). Robert kept us all entertained with many lies of the high seas, and some frightening enough true stories to boot. His outings to the islands, grottos and fishing trips mixed this up from your average live aboard dive trip.
But of course, we call came for the diving!! which was quite good and did not disappoint. We saw our share of sharks, many things many of us had not seen before (and all experienced divers) and had the luck to hit the blue hole on Friday morning, as hundreds of cute black nose sharks were gathered for month of July. (breeding?) the dive staff of Virginia, Cat, Josh, and Francesca were top notch and made a wonderful week of it for everyone. I would do this cruise again, without hesitation. Miss all you guys, both crew and divers. Hope to see you again soon. Let's dive!
The week on this boat was totally awesome. The diving was excellent and the food, service and accommodation all exceeded our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, they were even able to accommodate my pescatarian dietary requirement easily. Cabins were comfortable, air conditioning was necessary as the temperatures were warm, and the showers were always hot. We saw plenty of sharks, plus turtles, stingrays, iguanas and the swimming pigs.
My first time on the boat and it was excellent!
Crew was amazing and thanks to all of them:
Captains Des and Jason, Engineer Charles,
Divemasters Virginia, Troy and Francesca.
Galley Yary and Lindsey and the House Mouse Karina
Food was very good and the boat is comfortable. Four decks to chose from depending how much sun and breeze you like. Air conditioning makes the stay comfortable.
My favorite part of this boat is the dive deck. I really feel it is well thought out. Head and showers on the dive deck, 5 dive entry points, 2 exits, the safety boats, fill setup, defog on the walls, suit racks, camera table, recharge station, runs tanks, sea dog surface support boat, etc. Best dive logistics I've seen in my 34 yrs as a diver. Dive briefings were very effective.
Dive team did an excellent job of engaging at whatever level you needed. For experienced divers they were more hands off which was great. Junior divers followed the dive masters and got more help with entries and exits. I always felt safe with this crew.
Meals, captains dinner, media party and all was fun. Fishing and shore excursions were a good time. We only missed one dive due to weather, so we docked in a marina and had a blast.
The daily routine is predictable and efficient. If you don't want to do every dive or activity, no problem and just relax.
I look forward to my next time!
Great crew aboard, awesome food, very comfortable and accommodating, fantastic dive masters, incredible dive locations, better than any major cruise line.
