Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at check-in. We were given a corner room with an absolutely stunning view. The bed was comfortable and the room had plenty of space for two adults. The pool was beautiful; my only complaint was the lounge chairs were all ripped. But we still enjoyed the pool with the beautiful views! We ate at the restaurant on site which was delicious. We came to breakfast late so there wasn't much selection, but there were some breads and potatoes and an omelette station. The hotel staff also assisted us with calling a taxi to take us to the ferry in the morning after we checked out. I would definitely stay here again, and hopefully next time it would be a longer trip!

We stayed with three people in the room 'below the pool'. This is not a standard hotel room and as such is somewhat cheaper as it takes many steps to reach it. Also this room is close to a busy road so during the day there is some traffic noise. But for us - three ladies - it worked perfectly. Daytime we were out exploring with our rental car and night-time the room was quiet and spacious with its own terrace. The staff are warm and helpful. The pool was clean and new deck chairs arrived during our stay. As the hotel is located up the hill it offers magnificent views over the bay. I loved sitting on the pooldeck, watching the sunrise and all of St Thomas come to life.

Room tip: Just saw our room. Only book that one if you are reasonably fit because of the many stairs. Other rooms have easier access and great views.

We stopped here for one night on our way to the bBritishVirgin Islands for a charter sailing trip. We were Two couples and we had adjoining rooms with balconies overlooking the fabulous view of the Harbour and Islands beyond. Rooms were large with a four poster king sized bed, very comfortable. Bathrooms were tiny and could do with updating but for one night, who can complain.

We had dinner in the hotel and it was superb. But the best part was the breakfast the next morning. We had a choice of cereals, cold meats, cheese, croissants, pancakes, waffles or made-to-order omelets with all the additions you could think of. Too bad we couldn't eat more, as it was all so scrumptious.

Nice place to stay and eat!

The view is stunning. And Miles is probably the best waiter we have ever had! The hotel itself was fine (older) but the location is where it's at! We would highly recommend it to anyone on St Thomas. We stayed one night on our way to St. John. Great find!

We have been staying at Mafolie once a year now for the last 10 years. Fly into Saint Thomas and then continue our journey to our vacation on Saint John. We stay at Mafolie for the first evening of our vacation and take the ferry to Saint John the next day. Wonderful very unique hotel, very friendly staff, and have always had an enjoyable stay here. The only drawback is to be prepared for lots of stairs, but the exercise is also good for us! We love Mafolie!
