The good:
The staff is very helpful and friendly.
The views from outside are amazing.
The hotel looks great from outside.
Great food.

Now for the bad:(for $160 I was highly disappointed)

The rooms aren't clean.

The mattresses are old and terrible to sleep on.

One ply toilet paper (did I mention it's $160 a night and you get flippin 1 ply toilet paper).

Hope you sleep warm, no blanket or comforter (only a top and fitted sheet).

My husband walked into the bathroom, right after checking in, he was barefoot, and stepped in broken glass.
The first 30 minutes in the room was spent digging glass shards out of his foot and cleaning the cut. (the cut wasn't bad, we did not notify the hotel).

The nearest swimming beach is 3 miles away.

Be prepared for a ton of stairs and no elevator. We were on the top floor. It's quite the workout with luggage in tow.

The wall (electrical) outlet in our room had a short in it, had to wiggle the plugs to get any power.

The lamp on the nightstand had 2 outlets, one didn't work so we had ti take turns charging devices (remember the $160/night price tag).

2 pools (one which was never open).

The wifi is TERRIBLE, no one could stay connected in our room, we had to go out on the patio to use it.

When a patio is this small can you even call it a patio? It had 2 small chairs and a small round table and we had to maneuver between the wall and around the furniture to even really sit down.

No ventilation in the bathroom, the window's sealed shut, so if someone dies a #2, the entire family gets to enjoy the lingering smell, or you can open the patio door and let in all the humidity and hot air.

The furniture in the room is some old worn out wicker that's coming apart, we felt our clothes would stay cleaner in our bags. No closet to hang things in.

They provide a can if raid spray for each room, nothing screams clean like bug spray.

The bathroom door is literally falling apart, one layer at a time. (see pictures). (There were a lot of people staying at the hotel, and if the single king room is $160/night, there's no reason why this place should be so run down (other than they aren't managing their money well).

Their pictures of the place on here and ither travel sites are very deceiving.

So I stayed at this hotel for carnival week and it was horrid. I was better off camping on the beach in a box! Bed was DISGUSTING, mold, molding shower curtains,no hot water, no phones, dresser didnt even have a base. Open a draw and you can see directly to the floor! Guy tried to charge us multiple times for nothing! Fix this place or it needs to be shut down

This is a family-owned hotel showing great resilience after the hurricanes. Their customer service is top-notch. What I loved about the hotel was our large private balcony in our "Superior Room/Balcony/Harbour View" room. I did not see the other rooms, but I strongly suggest booking this room type, as the interior does need updating. It is not luxury by any means, but the large private balcony made up for it, especially considering the affordable price. I also liked that the central location made it walkable to downtown shops and restaurants and the water. Also, the design of this hotel is really cool! It is built INTO the hill -- very unique. No elevator, but they will carry your luggage up to your room for you.

Room Tip: Choose Superior Harbour View/Balcony

We were able to walk her pushing our luggage from the ferry dock. It doesn't look much from the outside but once inside it was great. They are still recovering from the Hurricanes but are working hard to please the customers. Thank you Thomas and Adonna at the restaurant (sugarcane grille) for making our stay into a memory.
