This cave and cove has gotten a lot of bad reviews because of crime in recent years. We were concerned about these reviews so we stopped by the Police Post and talked to them about it. They said that the people who were responsible for the robberies were caught. They reminded us that we should always be careful in remote areas but that they felt it was safe.
Remember not to leave anything valuable in your car. We leave our windows open so if someone breaks in, they don't break the window just to find nothing.
We spent an amazing day there with no problems. There were a few other people who came and went but we had it to ourselves most of the day.
The simplest way to get there is to take the Millennium Highway to Tom Lightbourne road. Follow this dirt road to the end. (literally at the beach) It's a long way and it's bumpy in spots but it's fine.
From the beach, just wade around to the left and into the cove. It's not more that waist/chest high. When you enter the cove, the bottom is littered with conch shells from the tourist boats so watch your step.
