Owner description: DNS Diving is committed to helping you discover the most amazing dive sites in Grand Cayman, from the sheer drop offs of our famous walls, to the adventurous wrecks and breathtaking reefs that have made Grand Cayman one of the top diving destinations in the world. DNS Diving (formerly known as: Dive N’ Stuff) was founded in 1993 by divers for divers. Our goals are simple; smaller dive groups, longer bottom times and safe, easy, flexible diving, all of which enable us to provide more personal attention to our divers and build great friendships. From a beach pick-up by boat outside your hotel or condo, to our friendly and knowledgeable staff setting up your dive equipment; we ensure that our guests keep coming back year after year. All our dives are guided by our professional instructors, but you are free to dive with a buddy at your own pace if you prefer.

“Dusty and his crew ae top notch”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

My two sons and I have been diving with Dusty and DNS for several years. We have been all over the world diving, but no dive shop comes close to the quality at DNS, Everyone is so customer centered. The small groups on the large pantoon boat make for a very enjoyable diving experience. The dive guides make for interesting diving and their knowledge of the reefs make you very comfortable. I would highly recommend DNS for anyone diving in Grand Cayman

“Bad experience - not set up for first time divers”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

We made arrangements months in advance, telling Dusty that we would have six newbies and one certified diver.

The DNS resort course consisted of a video that we watched the night before. Next day, we were all on the boat. With very little preparation, everyone put on their gear and was told to jump off the boat into 40 feet of water. No pool training, no shallow water training, just jump off and go. Of course, the results were a disaster. Several members of the group may never dive again as a result of this bad experience.

I apologize but we are completely baffled by this review. We are not sure you were even diving with DNS Diving, as we do not operate in the way you have described, and is reflected in the overwhelming majority of our reviews here. We do not offer a "DNS resort course" Our resort course is a PADI certified resort course and follows PADI guidelines fully and completely. It has been confirmed with PADI that skills can be done on the mooring line in water with no current. Our resort dives are done off Seven Mile Beach, once again PADI approved, and yours was done on Spanish Anchor, which is 40 feet to the sand. Once again this is PADI approved. DNS Diving also had three Instructors with you in the water, and another on the boat, which is a Cayman Islands requirement and well beyond the PADI requirement. Your PADI resort course would be the same no matter who you did it with. We all follow strict guidelines in this regard. We also do not understand your comments. Based on the other 5 divers, we did an absolute flawless job, and were told that they would dive with DNS Diving when they came back on island. We are sorry that you chose to make a merit less complaint, but hope you will give us the opportunity to prove you wrong should you come back to Cayman.

Regards,

“Wow! Hugely recommend!”
Reviewed 16 March 2012

I took my two teenage children diving with DNS. We had previously done one resort course in Hawaii but the kids were still a bit apprehensive. Dusty, Jerry and the rest of the crew did a great job making us all feel comfortable in the water. The experience was so good that we came back for a 2nd day of two dives and plan to come back to DNS later this year to get certified. In addition to the great instruction, they were on time every day and added staff to ensure their ratios of instructors to divers remained exceptional. Clearly a great find and someone I would confidently recommend to either the experienced or beginning diver!...Brad L.

Thank you Brad for the kind works. We are thrilled that you and most importantly your two kids had a great time. I started diving when I was seven, and we know how important it is to have good experiences when you are young, as they carry with your the rest of your life. We look forward to seeing you again soon, thank you for your business.

“Not for beginning divers”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

There is no way our "resort dive " was handled appropriately. We were taken out to an area 40 feet deep and after minimal instruction were told to jump in and an instructor would help us with the descent. ( we had been given a DVD the night before which in no way represented how our first dive was handled). For two of us our male instructor( don't know his name) was minimally patient and when we had ear pain after a quick descent we bailed . Two of our other divers were able to stay down a while but both came up with nose bleeds. The one very experienced diver in our group was shocked at the lack of time spent getting first time divers comfortable with the equipment.

Thank you for your review. At DNS Diving we take our business very seriously, and we are concerned that you were not happy with the service you received from us. We did a considerable amount of research, and still have a difficult time understanding your displeasure with DNS Diving. We received an email from the other two people that you allege came up with nose bleeds, and have determined that this is not the case. As a matter of fact we received an email from these people, and they said "Thanks for all the great memories Dusty. How do I send a tip to Lisa. She is a big asset and she(along with you) helped me have a vacation of a life time!" We certainly hope that you will consider diving with DNS Diving in the future.
