Paperman's is the way we start every day on vacation. Stephanie and Maxine are the sweetist barista's ever! We go there mostly for great coffee and sometimes splurge on one of their great hand made sandwiches which we save for lunch on the beach at White Sands. Nice relaxing atmosphere with really nice, friendly staff - great way to start the day.

Paperman's has all the makings of the perfect cafe hangout - its Strand location is cozy, relaxing and open on Sundays, the ideal day in Cayman for a coffee date (with everywhere else closed you have time as you can't rush around on errands). However, as someone who loves catching up over coffee and a treat but eats pretty healthy (as many do these days), it would be great to see cafes in Cayman as a whole overhaul their dessert/food offerings. Large portions of standard sugary cakes and treats just don't cut it anymore. Let's see some healthy gluten-free or sugar-free options to snack on beyond a fruit cup! You don't need to be a vegetarian outlet to offer these goodies. Date balls or naturally sweetened nut and seed granola bars would be great additions! Otherwise I love hanging out here, the staff are friendly, the drinks are great and the setting is awesome.

It is a year since I last visited Cayman, and a year since I had a coffee at Paperman's. The coffee was really excellent - the coffee itself has a complex flavour with rich toffee tones, altogether good. I would have enjoyed it more, however, if it had been served with even a spark of interest.
The barista was totally bored by the whole process and made me feel like an unwelcome intruder in her tragic life. However, all was not unhappy, a friend came in and she was able to talk to her animatedly, while totally ignoring me, so perhaps her life isn't tragic, she just can't be bothered to bring her personality to work.

Certainly a bit overpriced compared to other establishments on the island but their gluten free fig slice is yummy, and I don't usually eat figs, and the grandchildren rave about the chocolate chip cookies. There are a number of Paperman's on the island and they're popular with office workers for their coffee to go in the morning.
