ive wanted to try this restaurant for some time. owning on the south coast of grand cayman, we usually eat in restaurants in the eastern districts and/or rum point or seven mile beach proper, but rarely georgetown. we previously ate at the cayman islands yacht club as well. so we decided on this trip to try out a few new restaurants. this was the third such restaurant and we were not disappointed and this is a great find (though our management suggested this some time ago). the gtyc as it is often called is conveniently located close to the airport and midway or so between bodden town and 7mb. it is just at the end of north sound round after taking crewe road at the hurleys round a bout. the gtyc area is very pretty and the marina is chock full of mega yachts. the restaurant decor is very nice and it offers both indoor and outdoor seating. we chose the outdoor to be away from others with our total of 3 kids and 4 adults. so both the area and restaurant itself are nice. the club has an outdoor pool for use by patrons of the restaurant and marina and there are outdoor bathrooms and showers as well (changing rooms also). the food was a mixture, mostly carribbean type dishes. i had the jerk chicken which was accompanied by two sides. the portion was a good size and spicy the way it should be. in addition i chose the bruchetta as an appetizer. others in the group had a sheppards pie, lobster curry and grilled steak. the service was also good and again prices i found to be reasonable. glad we tried this place out, we'll definitely return. make sure to check out the website as there are different specials each day and a bbq on sunday, all you can eat curry on tuesday and 2-1 pizza on monday. again so happy we discovered this eatery and this will add to our arsenal of eatery's in grand cayman. thanks gtyc for a great meal and good service, what more can you ask for?
