From the awesome front of house staff in the reservations department to the friendly staff you meet as you walk around or at the restaurant and bars. There are 2 restaurants and a cafe on premises offering choices. The view from the ocean view rooms or the marina view rooms are exquisite. The mixture of locals and tourists and the ease of conversations across tables or while at the bar is pricelss. It was great sharing stories and recommendations with random people that have been visiting the Virgin Islands for 20 plus years and learning that you knew many of the same people and places. A very beautiful place the BVI and a not so Natures Little Secret anymore but still the hospitality you come to expect from a place where everyone seems to know everyone. The Moorings is an awesome place to be the views and the environment overall is fantastic. Meals at Charlies restaurant can be a bit pricy and if you have a rental parking during the day can be a bit challenging, but the experience overall is worth the inconveniences.

The location of this hotel is perfect before your charter rental. Rooms are a little dated but very clean. Resturants on property were fine for after a long day of travel. The pool area just completed a renovation and was very nice to relax at while waiting for your boat.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a marina view

My wife and I spent a week floating around the BVI with the Moorings Yachts and had a great relaxing week! Our ship Captain Peter and amazing Chef Jane really made our week special! Outstanding snorkeling, napping, and beach going was wonderful.

Subject: Moorings Mariner Inn Hotel
Location: Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Caribbean, North America
Title: No refund pre-booked date

My wife and I had a room for two nights at the Mariner Inn previous to our charter with the Moorings.

My children were scheduled for one night, pre-paid.

Reserved two rooms for daughter’s pre-boat charter. $200 each. Day of booking inter island scheduled ferry stopped operation. Hours before check in I canceled as occupants could not get to island.

Mariner Inn screwed us when children could not reach island early in their scheduled day due to a ferry cancellation. I canceled early in the day of scheduled arrival.
Told that since we had prepaid, we had to pay for room even if we could not use it.

Consumer Larceny!

Stayed: October 2016

Started badly when we were told our booking had been cancelled and the hotel was full. In fact we had paid in full, 7 months previously! It took two and a half ( stressful) hours for them to confirm that we had booked, and to make the easy excuse of a 'computer glitch' for losing our booking. It was another two hours before they found us a room.
The room itself was spacious, clean and freshly decorated, with a lovely view of the marina from the balcony.
On the down side, the equipment was basic: no headboard, only one bedside light, no table, a very small coffeemaker which didn't seem to work, an old fridge, lumpy pillows and the chairs on the balcony were tired and saggy. The en-suite was very basic and the shower was very slow to empty.
Food at Charley's restaurant was good and there was a tasty BBQ at the other restaurant. We found the coffee shop poor quality and expensive

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 17 and 27 which are close to the pool and so very noise and suffer from cooking smells in the evening
