The location is excellent; this is prime beach front property within walking distance of Simpson Bay amenities and a 5 min drive to the airport. It is a small, family-owned establishment. The room itself was ok, if a little small and basic. The hot plate on the stove did not work properly but the A/C was ice cold and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom wall that looks into the bedroom houses a nice glass brick feature, although somewhat at the expense of privacy for the person using the (snug) bathroom. The toilet brush holder looked like it hadn't been checked/cleaned in a while.

Living in the tropics you become accustomed to the odd insect in & around your property. However, when paying for a hotel room you expect it to be clean and bug-free. Unfortunately we shared our room with a number of cockroaches, which made us reluctant to keep food in the room. Effective roach control should be given priority to maximize guest satisfaction.

The curtains were very thin and the glass door panel also let in light, resulting in an unwanted early wake-up call at sunrise. We resorted to hanging beach towels over the windows to try to block out some of the light. This could be easily resolved by investing in thicker curtains or blinds.

Parking is on the narrow street outside the hotel, which can get busy if other people come to use the public beach, sometimes blocking you in. The beach itself is typical white sand, blue sea, and deck chairs are available free of charge. Enjoy views of yachts, catamarans and people enjoying the picturesque beach. Don't leave without taking a dip.

Dear reviewer, thank you for staying with us at the Azure. We are taking your suggestions to heart. Since Hurricane Irma we have been struggling to bring the hotel back in to shape While that is no excuse for the problems you encountered, rest assured that we are working diligently to address these issues. Some things that we normally do a much better job at have suffered because of the storms ongoing after affects. However, things are getting better everyday and we are able to focus on more details. We will be adding new curtains and stove top and updating the room in general this Summer. That particular room is closest to the beach and had considerable damage, mostly water. The issue with the bugs is something that we strive to stay on top of, my apologies that you encountered some while you were here. We are replacing the door as the storm had created some gaps where the bugs probably entered from. We hope to see you again, thank you for taking the time to write about your experience, the bad along with the good. It helps us to improve and provide a better experience for future guests.

Not my first trip and certainly not my first rodeo. I have a love for this island and it's because of places like this. I have traveled back post Irma and found many things the same but more not the same. :( But the beauty of the "backyard" at Azure is incredible as always. You will be lulled to sleep while listening to the ocean. Azure has beach chairs at your door. It does not get any better than this. Michael along with his wife Fawnette and daughter are the perfect host. They are there when you need them- but out of sight. The rooms are cleaned daily, well stocked with whatever you may need. (for me it's a coffee pot, fridge and beach towels) If you are looking for a perfect place to get away and simply unplug- this is the place for you. Visit -you will not de disappointed! See you soon!

After arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport, the drive to Azure is a short 3 minutes. You arrive down a narrow street that dead ends at the ocean. When you reach the sand, that's when you know you've arrived at Azure.

Perfectly situated on the stunning beach of Simpson Bay, Azure is the perfect place to relax and spend time gazing over the crystal clear turquoise water as the waves slowly splash on the shore.

My room had windows that looked out over the bay and a small little kitchenette area. It was very well-equipped, with everything you'd need on a short or long stay. If it's not there waiting for you, then hotel owner, Mike, will be sure to get it for you. Mike and his family are wonderful hosts and they really make you feel welcome.

Hands down, this is the best hotel in Simpson Bay. Conveniently located just a short drive to great restaurants, bars, beaches (assuming you want to leave the Azure beach, which you many not), grocery stores, banks, you name it.

Book a room, you will not regret it!!!

The owners and staff of The Azure hotel are so friendly and accommodating you will feel as if you just belong there. You absolutely cannot get any closer to a great beautiful quiet beach. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are very comfortable, I felt very relaxed and comfortable at all times. This is a great location for friends and family of AUC students.

We visited many beaches in St. Martin and this hotel truly had one of the best beaches. So clean, gorgeous clear water. The hotel is literally right on the beach, if you get any closer you’ll be in the water. We would step out if our room and there it was. The owners are very nice and attentive. Very personable hotel. We will be back!!!
