We just got back from a fabulous vacation at The Windjammer. The staff was great and so polite and responsive to our every need. Our adult son and wife joined us and the villa we had was beautiful with views of the water from every window. We loved being on the hobbi boat with our son sailing the snorkeling was good. But the best part was the attention shown by all staff to assuring our every need was met. I'd go back in a minute!

Stayed at the Windjammer from June 19-30th for our 20 year wedding anniversary. We were in the Hibiscus area and loved it. Room was a great size and stepped out to a fantastic view with a pool. The cleaning service is excellent and they were all so friendly. The food was good but we were not impressed with the portions vs the prices ..especially at Papa Don's. We found some of the waitresses at the restaurants to be grumpy and rude but the men were always friendly. We ate a lot at Embers and Jammers and ventured out of the resort a few times to eat at restaurants at Rodney Bay. . They really should have a shuttle to Rodney Bay and Castries instead of expecting guests to pay the crazy taxi price of $14USD each way. If you are adventurous and don't mind a 20 min walk down the road than save your money and take the BUS. It is 1.75EC and we enjoyed it. It definitely is not luxury service but we met quite a few nice people and found it to be fun. I snorkeled a lot off the beach which was nice but saw a water snake which freaked me out a bit. There is a lot of dead coral and weeds but the fish were very pretty. The water sports were a lot of fun. If you love to ski than this is the place. I gave the rating a 5 star because of the views and rooms but there is definitely room for improvement. Oh also there is no ATM at the hotel so if you need any cash you have to venture to town.

Room tip: If you want to be close to the beach and restaurants the HIBISCUS rooms are the best.

this year we stayed in our regular timeshare villa. The furniture is rather old and definitely needs updating but this time, maintenance, (thanks Collette Dermot-Stayers), had the villa all sorted beforehand and the pool functioned properly and the airconditioning units had been cleaned and worked rather than leaking all over the floor like last time!

Food at Upper Deck was generally good (thanks Chef Nissa) and so was Jammers. I really wish the menu would change though as it gets very boring for repeat guests. Of the new head chef there was no sign. Maybe he was dreaming up the new menus? One lives in hope!

Jammers Bar staff were great again and coped with quite a busy week. Barry the Barman again made superb bloody mary's with that extra kick...Nice to see Marcellus in the Jammers Bar too, I remember meeting him at the bar on the beach in January when he had just started.

I did note that the general standard of cleanliness around the resort has improved. The edges around the main swimming pool were less slippery and communal areas and the beach were nice and clean. Our housekeeper kept our place spotless and thanks to both the Pool guys for not only cleaning the pool, but also our little family of plastic ducks (don't ask!!)

Staff in the shop were their usual friendly selves and we had fun (!)

Shuttle service was efficient, although we did have quite a wait one or two times. Note, when guests come back after midnight after a hard evenings partying it would be great to have a shuttle downstairs ready. We had to wait a very long time and, in the end, one of the managers drove us up to the villa!

Wifi was much improved, needed for work (:-()
and was greatly appreciated.

All in all a great week with lots of very friendly staff and some very nice guests too... thank you Windjammer.

Overall we had a *fantastic* time... Certainly a nice change of pace (and scenery:) from standard cookie cutter resorts. Beautiful villas (IF they are reno'd!), with great views, all on the side of a large hill.

Visit started out a bit rough as the 1 BR villa we reserved (near Papa Dons) turned out to be directly across from major reconstruction of several other units. Jackhammers, power tools and construction workers who only seem to communicate by yelling started early in the morning. We raised this concern with the (very friendly) staff, and within a couple of hours we were assigned #50 in a much quieter part of the grounds. This was during a major arrivals day, so kudos to the hard working crew!!

I can't say enough about Villa #50. It's on the "mid" level road about half-way up the hill. Newly renovated, huge and *very* private. Trees and hilly angles in all the right places... Solid stone construction throughout... a lot of thought went into it's overall design.

We never used the AC... breezes and ceiling fans were more than adequate in the open common areas during the day and bedroom at night. *Loved* the peaceful chirping of the tree frogs all night long :)

At first the walk up and down the hill seemed intimidating, but we quickly got used to it and actually enjoyed the exercise. Was about 7 minutes to walk down, and 9 minutes and 18 floors (set many FitBit records on this "holiday") to walk up. On average, wait for a shuttle was 4-5 minutes in either direction.

Some Random Notes:
- If you are on All Inclusive (*great* deal if you don't plan on getting out much!), don't be worried about signing all those bills. Was a little intimidating racking up all those charges, but in the end it was just as advertised... *nothing* unexpected was added to our bill.
- When I left a tip, it was in cash to make sure it got to the person intended. If you add a tip to the bill (when on AI) it shows up as an extra charge at the end of your stay.
- Don't plan on using a shuttle (up or down) during prime arrival time (3-5pm) on Sat or Sun. Took us almost 45 minutes once... could have walked much faster :)
- The morning "close" snorkelling trip was more peaceful, clear and colourful than the afternoon Rodney Bay Trip.

We arrived with all sorts of enthusiasm for day long boat trips and hiking adventures... but in the end the Villa (and resort) was so freakin' comfortable we just stayed put... with the exception of 2 one hour snorkelling trips... all week :)

Restaurants were in general very good... Most dishes were freshly prepared, with steaks and other meats done to perfection. Most of the week I sampled the variety of fish... and fully enjoyed the texture and seasonings of every bite :)

Do be aware, that the entire grounds are going through a renovation.... the renovated rooms are *MUCH* nicer than the older rooms.

I struggled mightly with rating a 4 or 5... but in the end, if the resort was full and we were stuck in our original room all week... we'd probably be quite unhappy with the overall experience. Food was a very solid 4+.

And of course, I do have to re-mention all the staff.... From housekeeping happily showing us the variety of Villas, to outgoing and friendly bar/restaurant/front desk/activities staff... not a single bad experience all week!!

Highly Recommended for a great place to chill for a week.... and probably much more ;)

My husband and I decided to have a destination wedding with 35 of our closest friends and family at Windjammer Landing. It turned out better than we ever could have even imagined. I was skeptical to plan a wedding from hundreds of miles aware but from the very beginning Melanie Reynold (wedding specialist) made everything easy, straightforward, and hassle free. You really are able to be as specific and involved as you do or do not want to be.

Once we got to the resort our entire group was blown away by the beauty of the resort and accommodations, friendliness of the staff, and delicious food. Everyone from the front desk, shuttle drivers, to house keepers really try to get to know you and make your stay more personable.

On our wedding day Melanie made sure everything ran smoothly. The whole resort seemed to come together as a big team to make everything happen, from the spa to the food service and shuttles. They turn the beach bar Embers into an unrecognizably beautiful and elegant reception venue. The DJ and food were excellent. Photographer had the personality and talent we needed. We really felt special on our big day!

I would have my wedding here again 10 times over, and cannot wait to return for future anniversary vacations! Our entire family agrees! We really cannot put into words how awesome our trip was!

Room tip: lower rooms are walking accessible, higher rooms require shuttle service
