My family of four recently stayed at La Finca! We all loved every minute. From eating fresh mangoes from the the trees every morning, to swimming in the pool, to doing yoga on the deck, to reading in the hammocks, to bird (and iguana) watching from the porch- it was all heavenly. The two person staff were helpful and super friendly. It was the perfect, rustic, nature-filled, magical getaway! We'll be back with friends one day, for sure.

La finca Caribe is that place naturalist dream about ! We enjoyed the plain and simple living at La finca. The beautiful sounds of nature early in the morning. The sunset and sunrise are absolutely astonishing. Scott and Bill was just wonderful host, they met us at the gate with warm smiles even though we arrived late that evening. This was our first time in Vieques, so as we ventured out Scott and Bill gave us the locations and insights of all the best places to visit. They also are very helpful in our renewal wedding planning ceremony at nearby Sun Bay beach. This is the place we will return to as often as we’re able.

Once you enter La Finca you'll find yourselves in a very blessed and sacred place. The vibe is really beautiful and is a great getaway place to reconect with nature and with ourselves. I'll totally comeback to this beautiful place.

We LOVE La Finca every year for our 5th grade class trip to Puerto Rico from Ocean Studies Charter School in the Florida Keys.
Parents rave each year about the serenity, scenery, and service received at La Finca.
It is a rustic retreat that provides all of the things you need to be comfortable while also omitting the things that get in the way of really connecting with the surrounding natural environment.
La Finca has truly nailed it.

Room Tip: We always stay in Casa Grande which has a great energy, wide open space, and an adorable kitchen

We visited La Finca with our children (ages 10 and 14). We chose La Finca because we wanted to immerse ourselves in the local island culture and surround ourselves with the natural beauty of Vieques. We found both at La Finca . . . and (to the dismay of our children) much more! We rented Casa Nueva. It's a spacious two-story house with plenty of room for 6-8 guests. It is clean and charming in a bohemian way. It has two indoor toilets and two outdoor showers. It has a spacious kitchen and a wrap-around deck with views of the entire property. The furniture was comfortable and the property managers were very kind and welcoming. Having said that, it is important to understand that the screens on the doors and windows do not keep nature out of the house. Salamanders, geckos and mice come and go as they please. At night, one little guy perched atop the mosquito netting around our bed and kept a watchful eye on us all night long. Our children didn't mind the lizards, but they were less excited about the palmetto bugs that invaded our house and the tarantula that decided to shower with our son. Please know that none of these critters posed any real threat to us. In fact, we left Vieques with fewer than five mosquito bites between the four of us (and for that we probably owe a debt of thanks to the salamanders). It's just important to know what you are signing up for. Our family enjoys camping and hiking and most adventure sports, but our kids were unable to sleep at La Finca because they were fearful of what "might be" crawling nearby. (Meanwhile, my husband slept soundly on the comfy platform bed in the room off the kitchen!) La Finca is centrally located and easy-to-find from the airport. It really is an ECO-resort.

Thanks for the kind words, and for dealing with what sounds like even your fair share of our local critters! Like the tarantula in the shower! Luckily that is very very rare -- in fact you might be a first! I'm sorry about that! It's a tough decision in the tropics-- to have any house completely free of them requires not just poison, but nearly continuous use of it, and we're not willing to do that. Instead we try to keep things as clean and tidy as possible to help as much as we can, and be very clear on our website. I'm glad you didn't get mosquito bites (the lizards help with that) and that you enjoyed your stay!
