We went for dinner at Asere which is located in La Placita, a vibrant area of bars and restaurants, many of the bars having live salsa music and dancing. Right in the middle of the action.

We had a Cubano sandwich (generously filled with loads of pork shoulder and pickle) together with rice and beans $12 and crispy fried beef $18 with a mixed salad.

We had a bottle of Felino Malbec red wine $45.

The food was very good and our waiter was excellent – friendly and professional. He really made the evening special with his explanation of dishes and amazing service.

My group was visiting for a conference. This little restaurant was highly recommended and did not disappoint. The empanadillas, the tuna tartar, and the ceviche were highlights of our menu. The 20 de Mayo drink was tangy and not too sweet. We all enjoyed our entree. Only thing we didn’t care for was the taro mash.

Our waiter was Iones and he was great. He gave us well-thought-out recommendations. The speakeasy upstairs was closed on Sundays but if you go when it’s open, it looks like a great destination.

The area is crowded on weekends and has a happening local nightlife with live music and dancing. The crowds do make taxi/Uber arrival a little slow, so plan accordingly.

We stumbled upon this place on a Friday night a recommendation from our Uber driver. What a great place! There was a bit of a wait because we had a group of 6 & wanted to sit outside. We left a mobile number with the hostess & she called 40 minutes later while we enjoyed walking around La Placita. Our server, Layna, was fabulous - giving great recommendations & service. Great place to people watch and hear the live music too! Ask for Layna, you will not be disappointed! You may want to consider making a reservation or going during the week if you like to eat on a schedule.

We received excellent dinner service from Joel. Ask for him by name! The food was amazing. Prepared and cooked to perfection. Make a reservation for the patio. I would go back again and again. - Kevin R
