There are three Marriott chain hotels in Condado, this one used to be my favorite, but now is not any more .. at least until the finish renewal work (I understand it is in process of becoming Autograph Collection)

On the pros side: it does get a slightly wider part of the beach. Rooms are ample, with beds often facing the sea view and bathrooms generally renewed. The gym is better than average and overall service is good and friendly. The old breakfast place is good and well located.

However, endless renewal work has left one of two towers entirely unavailable. On the available tower (ocean front), 1 out of 3 elevators doesn't usually work. Rooms have become more noisy because of the very loud music in the hotel's party venues (2) as well as in the neighboring park, particularly in the latter part of the week. The worst, last time I stayed, was the humidity in the rooms .. first room was really unbreathable. I changed to another that already had a loud, bulky humidifier in, which at least did work, capturing half a gallon of water per day!

Lastly, in spite of some fantastic employees (Rafael, Sarai and others come to mind .. always outstanding in every sense) others have gone downhill, like Juan Pablo at the reception who now seems constantly under stress and unhelpful.

Last tip - don't accept Ocean tower rooms finished on 16 or 17 .. those are too close to the elevators and are significantly smaller.

The location is perfect, the staff is personal, and the facilities are amazing. Located right on the beach along with 3 pools, there is plenty to explore. The gym is one of the best in the hotel zone. The resort fee is steep and not sure why it needs to be so high. However, the biggest issue is if you overnight on a Friday or Saturday, don't expect to sleep. The deep base of electronic music will permeate the walls and keep going until 4:30 am. Light sleepers will struggle, even with earplugs and white noise machines. That said, the grounds are very nice. Lackluster breakfast for a resort such as this.

I had an amazing experience at La Concha! The best part was the 330 cocktail making class with bartender, Angel! He made our stay amazing- made great drinks, gave great recommendations, and provided entertainment to us while at the bar! Virna, the fitness instructor, was also very accommodating during my stay! I loved her water aerobics class and she went above and beyond during with fruit water, infused washcloths, and lavender during my session! Overall, the resort was very nice and had plenty to do. Very nice spots to be at the pool or beach. Beach staff was also very helpful and friendly with setting up chairs and umbrellas! Also had fun at the casino and lobby bar! Old San Juan is very fun and just a short uber away. La concha is very close to the airport as well. The stay, food, and drinks were a tad expensive but I was very pleased with all of it. The room was very nice and had a beach view. 😍
