“Horrible Service”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

We had never heard of the place before so we looked for reviews and saw some good ones.
First we where surprised by the shady neighborhood the restaurant was in. My friends wife didn't feel safe. Once in we had to wait for ever. The owner, with beer in hand, seems to hand pick the people he wants to serve. If you've only traveled to Disney World and Vieques Island this food will seem very good. But from an international point of view the food is average and the service is straight out BAD.

“Worth the journey”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

Jose enrique was an excellent dining experience. From washington st, go to end, take right on estrella , left under freeway, first right, first left and another quick right. Yellow house directly on left, given away by people waiting to get inside--after 6:30 pm. for sure one of best meals. The plantain fritters, fresh tuna and yellowtail snapper were so delicious...GO THERE ! Dont be afraid.

Great colirubia fish with majada. Informal environment, menu is fun and delicious and can be noisy on weekends

“FANTASTICO!! what a great restaurant, awesome neighborhood and great food”
Reviewed 4 March 2012

Was visiting with friends in Puerto Rico, a friend of ours lives in PR and took us to Jose Enriques on Friday night. The atmosphere, service, everything was exceptionally great. Delicious food. Only thing, they have just a few tables, the wait gets long, so either come early, or get a drink at the bar and then put your name on the list. It's worth the wait for sure!

“outstanding everything!”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

This restaurant was recommended the last time we were in PR by a friend who simply told me "if I die today it's okay because I ate at Jose Enrique last night". WOW bold statement! Had to go, not dissapointed. Like everyone says it's very unassuming and can be overlooked on the outside if you don't know what to look for. We arrived around 7:00 and only had to wait a few minutes, definitley early for PR standards. We LOVED our waitress Lisa, she was extremely knowlegable of menu and clearly passionate about their food. We tried celery root fritters, mussels, and very delish house cured pork and chees plate. We had tuna w/ a super fresh green bean and asparagus panzella, churasco steak with rice and beans. Too full for dessert. Great wine list with a wide range of flavors and prices. YUM!
