San San Tropez is owned by Fabio who I've dealt with for the last two years now. He is more than fair if anything arises, and is very knowledgeable about the area. Fabios calm demeanor fits right in with the laid back vibe of Portland. We stayed in Banana suite, a 3 bed, 2 bedroom unit for two nights. The beds were firm and comfortable, and really only needed for sleeping, as the rest of the day is generally spent at one of the beaches nearby. In the evenings, the pool is a great way to unwind with a glass of rum, listening to the crickets harmonizing and looking up at the stars. There were no mosquitoes, and the property was quiet. The location of the property is literally across the road from Frenchman's Cove and a 400 meter walk from San San. Blue lagoon is about 1.5 km away, walk able, but more likely a drive. I will definitely be returning to this property on my next visit.

When I read the other reviews I have to wonder if we went to the same place. Despite it being a long holiday weekend the restaurant--the rather dingy dining room of the small hotel of the same name--was completely empty. Within a few minutes a very nice man appeared and seemed doubtful they could accommodate us for dinner. (We called the day before to check if they were open and if we needed reservations; yes and no were the respective answers.) He checked the kitchen and told us he had enough for two pizzas and a few pasta dishes. We ordered a pizza, a pasta pomodoro & a pasta bolognese. A very friendly young lady appeared and took our drinks orders. Sooner than we expected we had our meals which were tasty though not "amazing" in any way. $68 in total, including 2 beers & 2 sodas. Overall: Okay meal, very friendly staff, unimpressive setting.

Intrigued by the idea of Italian food in this part of Jamaica, we dropped into the San San Tropez from our accommodation not too far away, and we were instantly captivated, both by the service and the food. We were sufficiently impressed that we returned a few days later, to our complete satisfaction. The restaurant is a bit to small to offer a full range of Italian meals, but the pizzas were excellent and the pastas were delicious. The setting is very pleasant, either in the dining room if the weather is difficult or alongside the pool, watching the hummingbirds to their work. It's not a well advertised restaurant, but a meal here re-pays the effort of finding it, right across the street from the entrance to Frenchmen's Cove. And the price is reasonable.

For a taste of Italy and fusion cuisine, try San San Tropez' restaurant. There are lovely pastas and lighter fare, served in a quiet, intimate restaurant in view of a pool and lovely garden. Come early and have a drink on the patio, and watch the hummingbirds. For a taste of fusion cuisine, try try the Rasta Pizza, a thin-crust Italian pizza, with Jamaican akgee - it's delicious! Your host will make you feel very welcome!

I was here for few days in January with my uncle's family. I really enjoyed the location. The hotel is cozy and the breakfast is very good. From san san tropez we went to the blue lagoon, monkey island, boston bay and the reach falls. I really recommend this hotel if you want to travell through the east part of jamaica in order to discover wild beaches and the jungle and if you are looking for a peaceful holiday.
