I have stayed at this hotel twice. The location is amazing. The rooms are nothing to brag about, but you are yards away from the beach. The breakfast package that is included with the room is very minimal and they charge for coffee by the cup. You can rent a fridge for 5 bucks a day. The Reservation process is very bad. You basically email the owner and wait for her to respond which can take a long time. For those of us that must plan vacation dates in advance this is a huge hurdle. I Would definitely stay again.

If you like casual and relaxed and everyone knowing your name, this is a wonderful place. We have stayed here more than 20 times over the years. We have had all the family and used multiple rooms or used Madge's rooms across the street when we wanted privacy . We have brought kids. No kids. We've had weddings, bonfires. Land crab races. You name it we've done it. The Donaldson family and friends take wonderful care of you. We enjoy the Jamaican culture , music and food. When you want to experience something different than home and enjoy local. It doesn't get better than this. It is the best location on negril beach. You can also walk anywhere. I truly have always enjoyed my time there. Everything is always irie.
Realize this is a Jamaican family owned business for many generations. Relax and enjoy

From the time the Security Guard, McCoy met our Car as we drove into the yard 12 hours later than we were supposed to arrive (worst flight ever) when everyone else was in bed to the time we left our Jamaican Home we felt right at home and safe and comfortable. We had 1 of 2 Upper Beachfront rooms with double doors opening to the balcony. In all my visits to Jamaica I have never had a view such as this. Sunsets were amazing right from the balcony. This may be an older Inn but this has to be the cleanest I have seen. Sandra keeps the place so clean and fresh. Kadine made the best Pancakes often full of bananas...so yummy!!!! She will make you your breakfast to order while you enjoy her awesome coffee or fresh squezzed juice!!!! Everyone at Donaldsons work very hard to make sure your stay is perfect! Miss Del is often sitting in the restaurant at breakfast and the conversations were wonderful!!!! I cannot wait to go home to my Jamaican family in January!!!

Room Tip: The Ocean front rooms have an amazing view but the garden rooms are also quite nice with their front porches!!!

has four rooms waterfront. they are great but the garden view are also very nice. great porches to sit on and watch the world go by.Lots of guests have been coming here for 5-30 years. Sunsets are fabulous and you can walk down the beach to lots of places to eat in bare feet. The beach is one of the nicest in the Caribbean, usually calm and not to deep. no rocks.breakfast was included basically pancakes and eggs. THey go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. most have a small fridge

Room Tip: try to get water front for the view.

We stayed at donaldsons for our honeymoon from February 3rd thru February 16th and we had a fabulous time! We were in the beachfront top cabin and the views were spectacular! You don't have to leave your porch to see the sunset! The beach here is the best spot in Negril for sunbathing and swimming. We brought a big raft and floated the days away. The staff was as always most accommodating and friendly. We ate breakfast every day at one of two restaurants on the property, the inn ting, beach side. Even if you are not staying at the inn, you are always welcomed warmly by Kadine and she will cook you anything you want! Dinner was equally good at the roadside Marge & Ossies restaurant. I recommend the shrimp pineapple! The inn has a family of regulars so you must book early and confirm with owner/manager Delores O'Connor. She will ensure that you are taken care of and she will welcome you warmly to The Best Spot on Negril beach!

Room Tip: Book early and reconfirm. As always when traveling, I recommend bringing your own pillow!
