Some of the staff will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and like a highly valued guest while others, not so much, irrespective of how generously you tip (i.e. 20% or more).
The deluxe room that we booked was nice enough, but don't be fooled by the pics on the website, you won't find any hearts or swans made out of towels with flower petals sprinkled on the beds. A second dresser or a couple of luggage racks for suitcases would have been welcome. The door locks were not dead bolts and seemed a little less than secure. A few renovations could go a long way.
The food in the restaurant ranged from quite good to excellent, however, you could wait half an hour or more for an omelette in the morning, and be warned, no coffee before 7:30 a.m.
A concierge would be a worthwhile addition to help guests with questions about where to eat, shop, things to do and places to visit off the resort.
Honourable mention goes to Thomas the security guard on beach duty; he and a few other staff members are the resort’s greatest assets. Their kindness and genuine concern for our well-being are the most memorable aspects of our stay at Travellers Beach Resort.More
