Thanks to everyone at the RPTB for making our stay so wonderful. Of course it all starts at check in. Andrew and the reception staff were very swift at getting us check-in, it's great to hear them say "your requested room is waiting for you." Thanks Andrew. It was great to see some of the remodeling started, I noticed even in the rooms a few small repairs have started. It was great to see and speak with some of the Hotel Mangers about the changes. We are really looking forward to seeing them in March of 2019.
The service crews and entertainment staff were outstanding. We appreciate there great service and dedication.
I would have to say that the buffet was the best I've had in the years we've been staying at the RPTB.
Hurry to the person that came up with the idea of having the food and music by the pool bar. Tommy does a wonderful job cooking and entertaining the guest. It makes it a hard choice at lunchtime Jolly's Jerk Chicken or Tommy's Pool Side Grilling.
Room service and bar service did a great job keeping everything stocked and clean.
Such a great job done by all again this year, all I can say is see you in March of 2019.

Thanks to RPTB.

Room tip: great ocean view rooms.

Stayed at the Riu Palace for the 5th time. Couldn't ask for a better holiday!
Staff from check in to check out were always helpful and pleasantly happy!
Nadine and Camille at the breakfast and lunch buffet always were there to greet with a smile and a song. Food was excellent from buffet to the a la carte. Drinks were top notch!
Our room was cleaned and fridge stocked everyday! Never a shortage of anything from kleenex to clean towels.
There were always loungers at the beach, so no need to rush and reserve them.
The hotel will be renovated this summer, although I'm quite happy with it as it is, I'm counting the days till my return!

Just returned from a week in Negril! Overall it was amazing! Great service. The resort employees were awesome. We really enjoyed sitting outside for most of our meals, the Jerk Hut, all the restaurants (got in easily to all), and watching the sunset every evening. Oceanfront room was worth the little extra; had perfect view and location in building 4 second floor.

3 complaints:
Beds were uncomfortable. Woke up sore and never well rested. Hotel put extra mattress pad on bed which made it better, but we really did not sleep great.

Pool with pool bar was not clean. The bathrooms were not convenient to the beach or pool.

Communication about daily activities was poor. Apparently there was a big sea food night at the buffet which we missed because we did not know about it. There were other things going on that I guess were posted on some large board, but other resorts give you a daily or weekly print out. Their print out was not up to date.

We would return to this resort because of it's beautiful beach and wonderful staff. The resort is closing this summer for renovations. Do not let this detain you from staying here. We tipped the staff because they work very hard and long hours. We hope Riu will do something to help these folks who are being laid off during the renovations.

Room tip: building 4 was great location. second floor was great view. ocean front is worth it!

We stayed at the Palace for 6 days. Enjoyed every part of it. The bars, pools, beach, and restaurants. The buffet was top notch, they varied their menu at night, but in the morning they had the basics every resort has. What sets this place over the rest.....smiles and friendly staff. We loved the jerk hut on the beach for lunch and the pool side lunches they served. The fresh shrimp and seafood served were incredible.
We ate at all four specialty restaurants. We had four people in out party, and all four of picked a different one based on what we enjoy eating. Italian, Japanese, Speciality(higher end), and steak house. The first three require men to wear pants. The buffet an steakhouse can be shorts. They do NOT take reservations, they serve dinner at 6:30 and then again around 8:00 or when a table opens up. We were told to be there early, but never had a line or had to wait to be seated. For what ever reason, our week the people ate at the Buffet.
We were impressed on the quality and care that went into cleaning our room and the nightly turn down.
The beach is beautiful, best sand and beach on bloody bay by far, the other resorts beach front is smaller and to each end it gets rougher. The entire stretch of the Palace is soft sand, no weeds, or rocks. Incredible sand!!!!!!!!!!
Every resort/vacations offers many choices for things you can do off resort. We received a tip from another family. We booked a day on a glass bottom boat with Captain Charlie. It was awesome!!! A local guy who owns a boat and will do anything and for any amount of time you want. We paid $300 for four of us for the day. We started at 9:00 and got back at after the sunset. The BEST part, it was all done on our timeline. There are many big catamaran trips that do the same thing for a little less, but this was just us and some red stripes. We went snorkling,(bring bread/rolls and bananas) to 7 mile, walked the beach, hit some bars, stopped at Margaritaville, toured some other resorts on the beach. A few more red stripes and off to the caves and Ricky's to Cliff Dive, we snorkled at the cliffs for a while(againl our timeline) and then headed back to another snorkle stop, and finally a slow cruise back to the resort as we watched the sunset.
I do have to give a shout out to Owayne, the beach waiter. He has an incredible personality and earns every tip and smile you give him. He has a great attitude!!! And works his tail off!!!!!!!
Yes, it is a little out dated, and shut down in August will bring some incredible changes to an already incredible place. We will return.
My last thought is on 7 mile compared to Bloody Bay. We had thought we made a mistake by going to 7-mile, but after being there, it is a little to busy for me. We did enjoy our 4 hours we spend walking and drinking there, but the beaches are smaller, not alot of tree shade, and the amount of people walking in front of you would not make me happy. The Palace has a nice distance between the water, where people walk, and the places were you can sit.
My only complaint about the resort is, I thought that they could take a little extra care in cleaning the hallways going to the rooms in the housing units, they did mop them everyday, but there were often glasses, paper, wrappers, towels, left on the ledges and on the floor. That should be an easy fix for the many staff that are there.

Our first visit here, one word UNBELIEVABLE . We have visited about 7 different resorts in the past 10 years and hands down this place tops them all. With the outstanding service from the front desk to the pool and restaurants, everyone one was fantastic. Size was prefect not to BIG it was just right, and the beach awesome. And for me to write a review, this place has to be special.
Thanks Riu Tropical.
