I don't care how "basic tourist" this may make me sound - go to Rick's and stay for the sunset. The "I'm at the end of the earth" feeling as the sun goes down is amazing. And if you're adventurous, do the cliff dive (even if at one of the lower points).

We visited Ricks cafe on a catamaran cruise and was by far the best day of our holiday. Excellent atmosphere. My husband and daughter braved the jumps and had a fab time. Food was lovely.

Ricks, despite the hype and fame, really is a great spot. Its in a beautiful location, really fun vibe, the pool is great, the cliff jumping exciting, and all in all a more or less must do when in Jamaica. I would suggest making a day or an afternoon of it by renting a cabana by the pool and just being in one of earth's most fun spots. Even the price of stuff is pretty reasonable all things considered. I wasn't with my kids (age 3 and 6) but I think they would get a kick out of it too. My response to the few negative reviews I've read is that you have to except what this place is...it's a party pit that makes money, go with the flow, cough of the cash (you are not here to save money), and just be nice. The world comes here to party and it's your responsibility to just shut up, have another drink, and enjoy yourself...you're in Jamaica mon and that doesn't' suck.

Took a taxi to rucks, arrived about 4 pm. It gets crowded after 5:30. Great place to chill and watch sunset and divers off cliff. Great staff, clean loos and decent food. Beach wear or casual wear.
