My wife and I have traveled quite a bit in recent years. This place stood out. It is outstanding! The breakfast is beautiful and delicious. A great planter's punch was there as a welcoming gift along with great chocolates on Christmas. The room was spotless. The owners are warm, helpful and informed. The location is lovely. They are professional and just first class. Fabien helped my wife by calling the car rental agency when we had a problem with the rental. They made a point of giving us tips and useful maps. They were there late when we arrived. It's up in the hills and cool. It's a short drive from the marina and beaches. This was a great experience.

We enjoyed much the calm, friendly atmosphere of the small enclosure of houses around the pool at La Metisse. The hotel is situated north of the center of St Francoise and the whole area is surrounded by a wall. There are some beautiful private houses inside. The rooms of the hotel are few, only seven and they are fresh and kept very clean every day.
A true treat was the delicious breakfast, not included, with a various kind of different tropical fruits, every time beautifully served by the polite hosts. They are most helpful with telling. in French and some English and showing you where to go and what to see during your visit.
Your own transportation is recommended as it's a walk to the marina where you can find some restaurants but the best meals we found to be at restaurants outside St Francoise.
For a few hours during the day there is no one at the desk so no need getting there early before opening time. The hotel is easy to find when you first arrive to St Francoise. We found the nature at Pointe des Chateaux especially beautiful. Thank you for making our vacation so uncomplicated!

This is a small "bed and breakfast" with 7 rooms. The owners are awesome, but speak little English. This was not a problem as we both used hand signals and knew enough words of each others language to get by. The accommodations were comfortable. The pool is a little old, but well maintained and adequate. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again myself. I would recommend renting a car from the airport. We did not and regretted it. This place is on the "flat part"of the island and from this south Louisiana boy, this was not "flat". Walking was good, but tough going up even the small hills when you are worn out from the activities of the day.

Room Tip: I think they are all the same

We spent three nights at La Metisse so that we could explore Grand Terre. Sebastien and Fabienne were great hosts, and as helpful as they could be. They serve a wonderful breakfast (delivered to your terrace), and for the three mornings we were there, had a unique assortment of delicious fruits each day, along with very good breads and jams.

Be sure to get directions from Sebastien - we had issues with both google and bing maps. It is in a convenient location, once you find it!

Room Tip: All seven rooms face the pool and have a nice terrace.

We stayed for a long weekend at La Metisse. The room was clean and the owners were really friendly, going out of their way to speak English to us, although we do speak French. The furniture looks a bit dated and the shower is not all that, but the fresh breakfast in the morning makes up for everything. Fresh fruits and bread, coffee, just perfect.
