located in Samana this resort is a good one. Being Dominican and visiting many resorts throughout the country this is not a great one but not a bad one. Been here 3 times and everyone has always been very friendly, entertainment is ok, pool is good and beach is AMAZING. Better than other beaches in Puerto Plata and even Punta Cana. Rooms are okay, never had any issues. Food was okay for the most part, some people complained that they got sick, however that was not our case. I would recommend this place if you want a gorgeous calm beach and a rare location in DR.

Beautiful property no big developments nearby, tons of gorgeous green!
Staff is über friendly
Especially fond of Pinky, the child care rep. She was fabulous and our kids loved her! The hotel is like a 3 star but it was a fab fab fab stay. Would love to go back again. Food is "casera" like Latino comfort food. Simple but nicely prepared like the rice and beans the yuca con mojo and the eggplant delicious. Lovely stay.

Our family went to Samana in April 2013 and had the most wonderful time of our lives. Some things to enjoy: while on the beach ask for Rudy of Rudy's Rancho and go for a horseback ride with him. We went to Playa Rincon and galloped full speed down this #5 best of beaches in the world. Then go to The Diving Academy and learn how to scuba dive and harpoon fish for a super meal. Oh yes - go to Samy's and check out his shop in Las Galeras. And for great - I mean really great food - go to El Cabito, a small restaurant sitting on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. And do live each day to it's fullest. The people there are wonderful. Stop and chat with them. By the end of your stay you'll feel like your part of the island and you won't want to leave.

I stayed here for my honeymoon and I am usually easy to please. This hotel however was terrible, the people were so unhappy and miserable, the food was the worst (most of the ppl staying there got sick). The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet, the room door wouldn't look in our room. When asked if they could fix it they said it was not possible.

The property and beach is fantastic, but the accommodations are the worst I have ever seen. It ruined or honeymoon so badly because we both got sick from the food despite taking dukeral and we came home completely disappointment.

We pledge to go on a redo honeymoon. Thanks for ruining our honeymoon Amhsa Casa.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.
