We were at the Catalonia Bavaro Beach for 2 weeks. The resort was invaded by university students for most of the 2 weeks. Drunk kids everywhere. So out of control. They were never cut off from any of the bars. Management did nothing. Occasionally stood around and watched them. Throwing each other in the pool, screaming, swearing and yelling. I felt for the parents with young children. No consideration for the other guests. Management was to blame for this. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy having fun and I drank also, but our vacation was ruined by this.

Beautiful grounds. It's so pretty very well taken care of.
Food was ok. Did get sick of it towards the end. The Rodeo restaurant was our favourite. We would eat breakfast at the restaurant by the beach. No very friendly people working there ( the only Friendly ones were the guy making omelettes he always had a smile and the guy making funny noises - wish I had gotten there names and the host lady. ). Was very difficult to get coffee.
Room was nice very spacious and clean. We got towels everyday and our room cleaned. Always hot water. We used the bath tub a lot it's huge and probably took half hour to fill. We were by the pool. Great location.
Pizza snack bar was great for lunch.
Pool Bar the guys there were super friendly I did not envy them having to serve those kids! Samuel, Xona and Juli thanks for always refreshing my drink with a smile.
The main bar ran out of vodka one night. Antonio, Eddy and Michael were great servers. I don't know how these gentleman do it. Always a smile on there faces and friendly as could be.

Beach was awful from what we were told it had rained a week prior to our arrival. (Mother Nature nothing could be done about this). Lots and lots of broken glass on the beach and each side. Be careful walking. We had to walk with our heads down. We picked up the glass as we found it. We love walking the beach and this is not a great beach for walking. Sister resort next door Royal Catalonia Bavaro and then market and public beach which part way through our vacation we were then able to walk as it seemed to have cleaned up. We stopped walking that way when one day we got to someone's house and the guy came out of his house with a gun and his dogs to greet someone on a horse. The other side of the resort is Pearle Club of some type. Then undeveloped property with high seaweed type of stuff would only be walkable if you had running shoes or water shoes on.

We were surprised to see the young guys trying to buy drugs from a performer one night. We watched money exchange hands then the entertainment manager going behind the stage. We were not the only ones to witness this either. Other people had mentioned this to us also shocked.
The day we were leaving I watched someone make a deal with a worker in a white shirt on the counters where you talk to the travel guys.
I guess if you want to get drugs while away it's possible. We have travelled to many resorts in different places and never encountered this before.
