Today we've visited the Hato Caves with not much more expectations than see caves and bats, but the local tour guide makes a difference for us. His expression and touch with our group was so amazing that I must admit our expectations were absolutely crossed over. Keep this amazing guy who's abnormal great speaker who can catch your attention, with him whole tour gets a spirit and thank you for that. Cross my fingers you'll get this man to walk you through the cave! :)

A flight of steps lead up to the above ground caves which are a natural wonder and have some interesting rock formations. There are further steps in the caves and in one of the caves there is a colony of bats which you walk underneath of.

Photographs can only be taken in certain parts of the caves.

Great tour. Despite the steep steps, this was very informative and beautiful. Photos only allowed in certain areas.

If you've toured larger caves and have limited time on the island, skip this tour. It was fun to see the bats, but not that interesting as far as caves go. As this cave was higher than sea level, it was hot and humid inside - not like the cool cave air you experience in other places.

If you are a “splunker”, you’ll love the caves. Stalagmites, stagtights, and columns. Very mature cave. Even FRUIT BATS !!!
