We stayed at this villa two weeks in July. We are a family of five (boys aged 7, 5 and 3). Curacao in general is a fabulous island for a quiet, laid back family vacation. There is lots to see and do, or you can sit back on the beach and do nothing. We felt very safe and welcome on everywhere we went and found the locals extremely genuine and kind people. It is on the expensive side when it comes to some food and attractions so we definitely took that into consideration when budgeting.
In specific about the villa and the resort. The villa is a fully stocked (and by fully, I mean everything I could imagine and need - they had it) unit in a perfect location on the resort. Not too close to anything but not too far away from anything either. It is exactly as pictured and was just spacious enough for the five of us.
The owners are friendly, approachable people. The property manager was great, and we also rented a car from him. He picked us up from the airport (only about 15 minutes away). Took us to the resort, showed us the unit and how things worked and was easy to contact in case we needed help as he lives on the resort.
The resort itself is clean and well maintained with a slight exception of the pools. I felt that they could use some minor touch ups. The restaurants on site are good but did have limited offerings, hence the car rental to get to the grocery store or a restaurant.
Beach area was great, just bring your water shoes. It’s quiet and has some excellent views. The kids enjoyed the shallow water ‘snorkeling’ and building sand castles. All while us parents were a few feet away on beach chairs enjoying the sunshine. The beach bar service was good, although limited and expensive. Although we did not golf, some of the holes had spectacular views and a worth the visit.
All in, this was a perfect place for us - exactly what we were looking for!
Thanks to Lucy and Gord!
