“Pepe is the BEST!!!!”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

If you checkout Ana's website, what you see is what you get. What you won't see is the incredible hospitality Ana and Pepe shower on their guests.

While being shown to my room, I made a couple of general enquiries and was told "While staying here you are our family" I felt at home my entire stay.....loved the place.

We stayed February 14 to 17 and 22 to 23 February in "La Casa de Ana."
Our opinion on our stay in the house is extremely positive.
The house is located in the "Vedado" the modern area of Havana. Not far from two of the attractions of the city: “El Cementerio de Colon” and the “Plaza de la Revolution”, which can be reached in half hour walk or five minutes by taxi which cost is really negligible.
In Havana, however, the distances from the places to see are not important because taxis are very cheap and you can find in every street corner.
Just arrived at the house, we found Pepe who welcomed us with a big smile, showed us our room: very spacious, with a very king size bed, well stocked minibar, safety safe, ceiling fan and air conditioning. Private bathroom with hot shower (maybe in the evening with a little water, but it is a problem of the city and not of the house).
Pepe has immediately solved us a big problem (we had exchanged a baggage). Immediately he accompanied us to the airport with his car, supporting us with police and customs to make the exchange of the baggage.
The house is very nice and friendly and can have breakfast lunch and dinner in a beautiful garden, surrounded by greenery.
Unfortunately, the first day we did not met Ana, she was not very well. We have in fact recognized her later and she gave us a great welcome.
The next morning Pepe gave us tips on how to get around the city, how to move and what to see, on the city map showing us the various itineraries by foot, by taxi or tour bus.
Thus began our great adventure in Havana.
The house of Ana & Pepe is clean, together Pepe and Anna there are two girls who look the house and they are always availables to prepare a coffee or something to eat or drink.
The beautiful thing though is that with Ana and Pepe you can feel how much you want to talk, exchange ideas and really feel among friends.
In short, a very beautiful experience and when you will stay in Havana for a few days, we suggest to all to stay in LA CASA DE ANA.

Absolutely fantastic stay with Pepe and Ana. The home cooked meals are amazing (huge prawns) and Pepe's walking tour around Havana is a great thing to do on the first day to get your bearings and hear some really interesting tips on the city. Great advice on what to do and where to go, our stay there was made so much easier with such fantastic local knowledge. We had to leave a night early as they were booked out, but the friends they sent us to were just as nice and the accommodation was superb as well. So if they are booked out ask for a recommendation, you won't be disappointed.

**Hello Pepe & Ana! Sorry for the late review, we are very unorganised...! We are recommending a friend stay with you in March if you have any room! Will and Alecia from Nov 2010

Went to Casa de Ana after 10 days travelling round Cuba. It was perfect.

Absolutely incredible food
Massive room and bathroom
Great advice on city
Friendly people, felt welcome but also didnt feel obliged to come out the room and socialise

It is more expensive than some of the other Casa's but when I was there they really looked after me (especially when I didnt feel well for one day) and for that it was priceless and I was happy to pay.

Would highly recommend.
