Fantastic location, absolutely stunning. Spent the whole evening in awe of the sunset and views. Foot delicious - lobster linguine, then veal chop, then rum baba which were all outstanding. Only downside was that the food was served too quickly so we asked for a 15 minute wait between starter and main. Loved our evening there especially watching the feeding of the tarpon, which we thought were sharks!

First the good - lovely location and romantically lit right on a small cove with clear blue water. Initial cocktails were very nice although a bit on the pricey side along with the food. The table service was excellent and our waiter was down to earth and knowledgeable about the menu.

The A5 Kobe steak was very well cooked and tasted amazing as expected and melted in the mouth - would be difficult to get this wrong. Our table also enjoyed some shrimp ravioli, scallops, crab cakes and seared tuna. The rum baba dessert was boozy with rum and was excellent. We also enjoyed the cheeses with some a nice glass of port. The bill came to quite a price - approx 1000 Euros for the four of us and in reflection we think the food is a bit overpriced but you are paying for the great service and the amazing location and vista.

The only downside to our evening was with the bar manager and it is a shame that this leaves a lasting impression even though it was a relatively minor issue. Papa Jules (Bar Manager) whom we would suggest needs to have some refresher training in hospitality. We have experienced the exact same behavior from him in the past - not as much as a "hello and welcome to the Cliff" from him to our party except for an awkward "was your cocktails ok" was all he could muster to our party despite passing our bar table on multiple times. However, he seemed to schmooze with some other repeat visitors and seemed very friendly with them - obviously we were not worthy.

Our advice to Papa Joules would be simply to try to treat all guests as equals - I know you will have people you know a bit more but a a friendly welcome would not go amiss.

Had a really nice meal spent $1500 for two people but we were out on a jiffy!
We can’t complain about the food but we arrived at 8.30 and were out after 9.15, rush, rush, rush..............
A beautiful location but they need to be more grounded, too much thought about themselves rather than the people dining there........
A huge disappointment...................

So we have been before. Yes it’s upmarket & expensive & yes the food can be good!
We had a amazing seT at the edge where you can watch the sea And the huge fish below.
My tuna looked stunning but it felt a little off the production line!
My husband ordered a glass of house red wine from the menu when it was poured & tasted it was ‘corked’ the waiter confirmed this and offered another glass of house wine. Which arrived was was lovely. HOWEVER what he failed to mention was the price of the replacement glass a staggering £55!!!!!! For a glass we only discovered this when we got the bill! I though it was disgusting service and very poor. So I’m afraid I will not be heading back there any time soon. Plenty of other places to go

It was our first visit to The Cliff and my first impression was, as many have said, Wow !! Absolutely stunning, beautifully lit, it was like walking onto a very romantic film set. I had a tear or two in my eyes. We ordered a cocktail, we were taken to our table, the menus arrived, as did the bread and even the wine. And there we sat and there we sat. You know that feeling you get when something just isn't right. A table of two arrived behind us and fairly shortly later they were eating. A table of four arrived on the other side and the same thing happened. And still we sat with our menus in front of us. My husband walked up the two flights of stairs back to reception and complained about the slow service. Actually it wasn't slow service it was no service. I don't know how many members of staff, wait staff or management, walked past our table and nobody noticed that we still had menus in front of us 45 minutes later.
An apology was made for the slow service and we were offered our bottle of wine on the house. The food, when it arrived, was very good. But personally the evening was ruined. After dinner a waiter approached us with a "birthday" plate. We had not mentioned the fact that two of us were celebrating a birthday. "how do you know it's our birthday" I asked. "Well we do but we can't tell you, it's data protection". I think he thought that one of our husbands had quietly tipped them off but that was not the case. He took the plate away which I assume was meant for someone else. Very very disappointing and definitely not a Happy Birthday.
