“Extremely beautiful public beach”
Review of Paynes Bay Beach

Paynes Bay is an extremely beautiful public beach. I would definitely recommend a visit. You can hire a bed for the day for about $20 Barbados/$10 US. I must say being approached constantly with offers of water sports, aloe vera, trinkets, jewellery etc. can get tiresome when you're just trying to relax, so be prepared for that. However while one or two of the sellers can be too pushy, most are friendly and polite. There's a beach bar that does tasty food, it's a little expensive for what it is, but the location is beautiful, you get to sit right by the gorgeous beach.

Loved walking here each morning while vacationing. The beautiful tide and calmness was refreshing. Locals nice to chat with. Will be back.

The beach is a nice stretch that fronts some higher end hotels. While there are some rocks, it is a good spot for lounging or going for a walk. There are some motorized watersports available, however it is not so much that it intrudes on the beach atmosphere. The water, depending on the day, is calm enough to swim in. I did not snorkel and did not see many others snorkelling either. It's not a postcard-perfect beach but certainly suitable for a relaxing lounge while enjoying your holiday in the sun.

Unfortunately not loads of sand but if you walk around the corner 10 minutes you’ll find sandy lane beach which is beautiful.

We had a great time while in the area.the beach however was a bit of a disappointment.while beautiful with warm water there was not actually a lot of beach. Was looking forward to long morning walks.not possible here.the short walk to the area is on a busy road with poor sidewalk on the beach side.
