Was staying with family but needed somewhere to buckle down to do some work. Found Beach View after a quick internet search and was pleasantly surprised. Spacious well equipped, comfortable villa. Was met by the owner as I drove in and given a brief tour of the new wing being built. The small things are important to me. The TV was switched on to BBC news when I arrived in the room - nice touch after hearing my British accent. The staff were friendly and made an effort to introduce themselves and also to call me by name. I've read some of the other reviews and agree that the traffic can be noisy, the onsite facilities could be larger, and you need to cross a busy road to get to the beach. As someone who knows the island well, none of this was a problem. I could hear the traffic but wasn't disturbed by it, the self catering facilities mean the space is ideal for families with adequate amenities around, and crossing the road would be the same if you booked into any hotel not situated on the beach front. Renting a car however is a really good idea as will provide that extra comfort in getting around. There was ~40% occupancy so cannot comment on the pool area being busy as it was lovely, relaxing and definitely not over crowded. If you want a home away from home and are prepared to venture out then this is a perfect location. Have rebooked for my next visit and even signed up to TripAdvisor just to write this review.

We wish we knew about this place earlier, it was great. The original / older part is a set of large apartments which although nothing fancy are really well setup and perfect for couples or families who aren’t looking for room service style accommodation but want a kitchen, a/c, Wi-fi and TV. Three big pools to choose from if that’s your thing. Over the road is a small beach for swimming or snorkelling, you can walk 5 mins north for even better spots. Plenty of people willing to take you on boat rides. Barbadians are kind and thoughtful and don’t target tourists in the typical way. St James is a great place to stay with lots of local spots, and a few stops on the bus Holetown has fancy stuff and a supermarket. Best thing about our trip to this hotel was the food: the cafe is serving reasonably priced, carefully cooked and well thought-out dinners. Enough local influence to make you appreciate where you are but safe bets for those that don’t care. Excellent service and generally somewhere that you feel the owners are passionate about.

Met some great people, many go every year. The place is brilliantly run, very clean. We went to the welcome party at the owners beachside villa which was a great touch. Would definately go back. We mainly ate out other than breakfast but there is a restaurant on site with very good food if you don't want to cook or go out. Very spacious accomodation. Couldn't fault any of it.

Rooms with view or certain floor not guaranteed until check in. THE PROPERTY IS NOT ON THE BEACH. There is a busy road separating you form a not so great section of beach. You can walk further down for a better area to swim . View from third floor is of the water and power lines that run along street . Sunset blocked by trees for room 306. Room was clean, staff nice especially Mike at the car rental which was very easy to do, clean ,new car, worth driving around if you are comfortable driving on left hand side and through round-a-bouts which we did for the day. Nearby gas station/convenience store 2 blocks away. Property has security gate and guard. Kitchen convenient to have especially with kids, knives all dull in 306. Worst part of the room was the air conditioning. It is set up on door magnets and ? motion detectors. Stops often if a door anywhere in the place opens. Never got cool in large kitchen/living room area as unit is undersized. Air conditioner in master very noisy. If you are a light sleeper prepare to be warm or awake. ALSO, ROOSTERS NEXT DOOR ARE UP BETWEEN 4:30 and 5:30, again if light sleeper beware!!

We have just come back from Beach View and we loved it here. All the staff were wonderful - to name a few: Sonia, Carrie, Mark and also Mike, Roshanda and Katrina at the pool hut. The staff couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. This accommodation is in a fantastic location, Paynes bay is a beautiful beach and you are near to some amazing restaurants. Walk around the corner and you are by Sandy Lane beach but we preferred Paynes bay and Alleynes bay! You can explore the island further if you hop on a bus or hire a car, it's all very easy to do.Our apartment was incredible - very clean, spacious and with a huge balcony and sea view which you would pay a fortune for at some of the hotels and it would not be as nice a balcony. The apartments offer great value for money. The west coast of Barbados is not cheap but these are good value for money. Yes there is a road in between the apartments and the beach but this did not worry us at all. You pay a lot more to be right on the beach and I don't think it's worth it. We are a family of 4 with a 7 and 6 year old. We hired a car, jumped on the bus and explored the island and felt very safe. The Cliff (next door) is great for cocktails at sunset even if you don't eat there you should go for cocktails as it's a very family friendly place and surprisingly not uppity at all.I have stayed in hotels on the West Coast and much prefer Beach View. You have a great location, pool and daily maid service yet you can eat out when and where you want. There are wonderful places to eat so I feel you'd miss out on this staying a hotel.Robin and Hazel host a weekly party at their villa - what a lovely touch this is and if you can go definitely do as it is a beautiful villa and really nicely done with drinks and nibbles. We would definitely go back to Beach View and have already recommended to friends who have booked for November. I would highly recommend this place if you want a lovely apartment on the west coast with lovely staff and want to self cater and eat out as you please.
