We always go to the Sandpiper for a meal when on the island and it never disappoints. However, this time, it was a little like dining at an old people's home, with Zimmer frames and some guests looking more than a little doddery!
As ever, the food was very good indeed and the service was faultless. The two ageing hippies singing as the entertainment was both amusing and entertaining. If only there were more people under the age of 70 there!

Left to navigate through the hotel to the restaurant by ourselves and although the restaurant claims it is a no slippers / no shorts establishment plenty were in evidence. It seemed to be an older dining crowd when we ate there so slow calypso rythyms from the trio singing.
The food was good but i thought not as good as Tides, the pumpkin and feta salad was excellent but the Grouper was a bit dry. The mango souffle was worth the wait however.

Maybe as the hotel had just opened for the season things still needed to be polished up - a fine dining experience but not the best of the week.

We went to the Sandpiper on a Wednesday evening when there is a buffet and live music. The welcome was immediate and we were shown to a lovely table overlooking the tropical gardens down to the beach. We were offered the opportunity to take a drink at a lovely bar near the pool but it was quite busy with a cocktail party of hotel guests. On arriving at the table we were introduced to our waiter twho ook us around the buffet tables and explained what was on offer. The buffet was beautifully presented and looked mouthwatering. There was something for everyone, soup, lobster...........and the desserts looked to die for. Good wine list. Service continued to be very attentive and we had a wonderful evening. Buffet style meals are not our usual choice but we couldn,t fault this.
