A definite waste of time. Thats why there are no tourists there. Place is deserted ( may be because no cruise ship in the port). Didn't see any crystal shops and two were closed at mid day when we went. Prices of many art predecessor are hiked up for tourists and you can get them cheaper in down town Bridgetown.
Very dissapointing.

The pelican island craft center in its day might have been something but half the shops are empty and they have added thrift shops. Some of the art work was outrageously priced. We paid for a tour not knowing these few craft shops were across the street from the port entrance and we could have walked to it ourselves and seen the three or,four only craft stores. Waste of money.

We've been 2 times in Barbados and both times before we headed back to Cruise Port, we stopped here. Little "village" where are lots of different shops, boutiques, craftsmen and also a bar :) Big part of Barbados - especially Bridgetown- is really commercialized, where local art says "Made in China". So this has been a good place to do some shopping and this way you don't have to carry your stuff whole day before return to ship.

Overall not as interesting as expected.
One real exception is CSS Art and Crafts run by Shonette Williams. She made two blouses for us and they are really nice. Highly recommended.

Jamal Ifill had some beautifully crafted blown glass pieces. I will shop there again! We visited several other shops and did find a few unique copper jewelry, however about 1/3 of the shops were closed when we were there.
