We just got back from our honeymoon a few weeks ago and we had a blast! Granted it was off season, so the resort was not busy at all. Lots of other fun couples that we met. The hotel has a great Hilton Honors deal- access to the lounge for complimentary bfast every am. Or you could get a voucher to set the formal breakfast for only $10.
-Rooms were very clean and houskeeping was very timely (morning and afternoon)
-wonderful balcony!
-gorgeous ocean view
-goregous pools (upper infinity pool, lower pool)
-fun water aerobics instructor
-very nice hotel gym
-happy hours at the various hotel bars with decent rates
-did not eat at the hotel except my husband ordered wings one day (a let down)
-we would walk down the beach to get egg sandwhcihes from Cuzz! they were good! try it
-we did not eat at the hotel for other meals, but tried a bunch of good restaruants:
-waterfront cafe (bridgetown)-this was okay, nto my favorite, but had a live jazz band
-tapas: great! on the boardwalk
-black pearl, sat right by the ocean
-just grillin - outside grillin, super casual, icecream shop close by

Definately do the Cool Runnings Tour. Super fun!

Overall, I loved loved loved the Hilton Barbados. the only thing is that it isn't very close to other restaurants so you have to take a cab (or be adventurous and walk like we did). Bad sidewalks in Barbados.

We stayed here on points and I wouldn't have changed anything. In fact we kept joking about how soon we would like to return. I would def. recommend going in 'off season'

I stayed in one of the executive rooms which was very spacious and had a view from every window and door! Once you’re on the executive floor you can use the lounge which has free wireless internet, free continental breakfast, drinks and snacks. You must try the Lime Squash at the pool bar, great drink. The beach is OK; I found it a bit rough. My suggestion to the hotel is to continue with the boulder wall so that there is at least once spot on the beach where guests can swim in calm water. Otherwise, great stay. Check out Brown Sugar Restaurant which is just a short walk away.

Overall I am very satisfied with the hotel. It helps that June is the low season and not very crowded. It is a Hilton after all. You can expect nice pools, a great view from room balcony, and an adequate gym. We were there for a wedding, the event spaces were very functional and had a nice flow from the beach. A few other amenities include an outdoor hot tub, infinity pool, wide beachfront, and a very scenic cannon ruin, which is now a lovely garden. Kayak is free for the hotel guests. The breakfast buffet provides a lot of variety (We were there for 6 mornings). The best meal we had inside the Hilton was the Wednesday Italian buffet dinner in the Lighthouse Terrace Restaurant. It included a cold/salad bar, a fresh pasta line, a hot food line, and a dessert bar. Some of the best items were: fresh clams, fresh grouper filet, thick prosciutto cuts, well marinaded peppers, calamari and flan. There are a few places to eat outside of the hotel within walking distance. Before you reach the main street, "Bay Street," you will see 2 fish sandwich shacks. The further one from the Hilton is delicous and cheap. Right behind the shack, there is a restaurant/bar called "Dippers." The only clue to the restaurant is the "Barbaods Cruising Club" sign. It had a second story patio overlooking the beach. It was a great place to drink and hangout. The food was very home-made~ great tuna steak. "Brown Sugar" was another restaurant on the way. Althought friends of ours said it was just ok. Once you reach the main street, immediately to your left, you will see a small strip center. The Jamaican restaurant is excellent! There is also an Indian, a Chinese, & a Bajan restaurant.
Overal, Hilton Barbados was a great place to stay if you are not looking for anything super exotic. It has all the amenities, comfort and food variety to make a low stress and relaxing vacation.

Delighted to read you enjoyed your stay with us and managed to relax and unwind on this beautiful island. Pleased to see that you singled out the Italian night in the Lighthouse restaurant which of course is very popular with all our guests. Look forward to seeing you back on these beautiful beaches soon.

This was our second trip to the Hilton in the past 12 months. Our first trip was flawless. This go-round, the clerk at check in (I think her name is Andrea) got us off to a bad start. We were travelling with another couple. We each booked an ocean view room. After confirming with Andrea that this was the best available room in our category, I was told that all of the rooms have “good views”. After a refreshing welcome fruit punch, we were ushered to rooms that fell short of our expectations. One of the rooms was on the first floor, dead smack behind the lighthouse. If you wanted a wide angle view of the Lighthouse from your balcony, then this is your room. The second room was on the second floor, apparently the last room as far away as you can get from the ocean/pool/etc. This room really should be categorized as a partial ocean view room, because if you look to your left you saw shrubs and tank containers. I complained and was immediately moved from that room and placed in a much nicer room with a wonderful view. The young lady I spoke to this time at the front desk was very accommodating and saved the day. My question is this why couldn’t we have started off in that room to begin with? In any event, the rest of my stay was wonderful. There is now some entertainment on weekends so the place does liven up somewhat. I still consider the Hilton a great place for a vacation. I would definitely return. The property is very well maintained (especially the grounds and the beach) and I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating (of course “thumbs down” to first check-in clerk).

Went there with my husband and 3 year old to what was supposed to be India-Pak world cup match but since both teams fizzled out we decided to enjoy our reservations and watch "plain" cricket instead.
On our arrival, we were given refreshments and within minutes ushered to our ocean view room. This is when we realized that the entire cricket team was booked here. England, Srilanka,Bangladesh, Australia, Ireland players were walking around and the rest had checked out recently. There were news teams, fans but they were managed well so as to not bother other vacationing families.
We loved the pool, simple layout and calm breeze that floated through the property. The beach was so beautiful and shallow. We didnt try any hotel restaurants as we are vegetarians and didnt see any options but the front desk gave us directions to the close by Indian restaurant - Apsara.
The breakfast was well laid and balcony view to beach in morning from the breakfast area made it worth waking up in morning. Staff was courteous and out of our way mostly because of the tending of the cricket team. We didnt mind that, the beach bar made nice mocktails, played music and got samosas every afternoon. That was the highlight of our stay!! We didnt recognize most of the celebs unless we saw pictures been taken and realizing "oh..ponting..that sounds familiar"!! Australian team was the most sought after.
We met Brian lara, Glen Mcgrath,Hayden to name a few.
Since I was a few months pregnant, we didnt venture out as much but stay in the pool, let our 3 year old make sand castles with the free sand toys the front desk gave and watch my husband play cricket with some coaches, sons of cricket players and other hotel guests like us. We went out to orchid farm and had the taxi driver give us a quick tour of the surrounding area. Apsara restaurant is pricey, beautiful and a decent Indian restaurant. We are spoiled living in US with our value for quality indian restaurants but considering we had no other option we were happy to have this one place close by.

Bathroom is decent sized, nothing fancy. Beds are typical hilton. Cute balcony. Safe area. Also remember seeing the property on "Bachelor" show on Abc a few months later where they showed some nicer rooms. Good to know that they exist.

We did kite flying, motor boat riding and walked around the beach under starry sky every night. A hammock, small sized lighthouse and good wind imade it perfect for our chilled out vacation.

There is no better place to be than Barbados when there is cricket being played. We are delighted you enjoyed your time with us; our wonderful beach is one of the star attractions and remember we also have lots to do for the children as they get older. Thanks again.
