There is an information booth, restaurants, rest rooms, ice cream and coffee shops nearby. A comfortable place to sit and plan your day. The people are very friendly and helpful, it is clean as a whistle and there are lots of quaint little shops to browse in.

Just arrived in town for a week. Went down to the square to visit the visitor center. Arrived just in time for the dunking of the town gossip. She was dragged out to the dunking chair and placed over the water, all the while telling the crowd of the goings on of the local folks. After repeated requests to repent her wicked ways and not getting a positive response, she was dunked into the harbor. After five or six requests to repent followed by a refusal and a dunking she repented and was brought to dry land. There was a good crowd of people observing the goings on as well as helping.

We happened upon King's Square after off loading from the Ferry from Dockyards. Just in time for the town crier to announce a walking tour. We quickly went inside the little shop to purchase tickets for $12 each. We had the Reverend give us an approximately hour walking tour which was very good. He was an excellent speaker with a commanding voice which allowed all in the group to hear each word. He provided excellent commentary and history during the tour. Also provided a great recommendation for lunch off the beaten path at the Tempest restaurant. We stayed a while to see the dunking. It was entertaining but if you stand close and a male you may very well be brought in to assist with the dunking. Excellent fun for all ages.

This is the place where St George landed in Bermuda. There is a statue of him by the waterfront. There are old stockades and stuff to take pictures in. Fun time. Everything is walkable and plenty of public restrooms available along with many nice restaurants and pubs.

While visiting St. George, we enjoyed walking around the King's Square. My family and I shopped and had ice cream. I purchased a Banana Leaf Angel: body banana leaf, head hazelnut, halo banana leaf braided, wings are a Magnolia skeleton! I wanted a souvenir that was made in Bermuda. Cost$19. Purchased at a local art store.
