Resort is not as updated but is vey clean. The appliances need to be updated and the room decor would be much better with new curtains and a bed runner. Restaurant was not that good. Other than that we really enjoyed our 1st visit to Aruba. The beach was not crowded and staff was very nice. I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Get room facing the beach

The hotel may be outdated but it is kept in good shape. Everything was clean and anytime we needed something they responded quickly. The only reason for 4 stars like some other have said is that you are greeted with rules everywhere. It makes you feel like you are being nickle and dimed for things. Sheets are only changed every saturday. If you would like them changed again it's $20. If you leave the bacolny door open it's a $100 fine. If the room is left "bad condition" and taked the made longer to clean it's a $100 fine. If you check out after 11am it's $150 for every hour late. When you are greeted by a layout of papers all over the room for things you cannot do it makes you feel like they are trying to get every dollar from you. While i understand some of the rules should be there others do not need to be. Besides that the resturant ricardo's has great food. Beautiful beach that the hotel sits on and everything is kept clean.

A bit dated, but very comfy place with a good pool and ocean front, where you can reserve shady cabanas. The water is perfect--not too many waves and good temp. The staff were very helpful, especially with my invalid mom. It is accessible to those in wheelchairs. The restaurant there is ok and the bar very good.

We fully enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very nice and recognized all our needs. The restaurants Ricardo's and Matthews next door were both terrific! The shopping nearby was really good as well as nearby restaurants that were with in walking distance.

My family (2 adults 2 kids) have stayed at this resort several times. I have to say we love it. We were there last week when a fire broke out in the elevator shaft. This happened sometime early morning around 6-6:30am. We gotten woken up to the sound of the fire truck. The siren was loud and then we heard it shut off when it got louder and near us. My husband and I both woke up and he said he would take a look out side. I looked at my phone to check time and it was 6:40am. I also got up and checked it out. Woke up to seeing two fire trucks outside the hotel and many workers all standing out front. My kids were still sleeping. Then we noticed some man video taping the building. Waving at us to get out because he could see the fire. We ran in our room and told the kids they had to get up and out. We knocked on our neighbors door also and informed them. The fire ended up not being huge but enough to have 3 fire trucks there and flames coming out of the building. The 3rd truck came because it was the ladder truck. So the thing that gets me very upset is that at 7:15am the fire alarm finally went off. That was 35 min later than after the second truck showed up. No one was telling people to get out. I was informed that someone was calling the rooms. They said they pulled the alarm and it didn't work. Not sure if that is the truth. They tested them all day and I was twas of they worked fine. But the thought of staying someplace with the alarms not working scares me. The employees all said they pulled it right away. Anyways, Just wanted to share. Always be on alert. Some people slept through the whole thing and never got out also. This could have turned out to be a bad fire but they were lucky and it was contained fast.
