Room was outdated and the A/C is only in the bedroom. Made the rest of the casita too warm. Wi-fi range didn't reach our room, so we had to go to the pool to connect. The location and price is hard to pass up, but you need to understand a few of the shortcomings.

Just got back recently from a 6 nite visit at the Boardwalk. We really enjoyed staying here and would not hesitate to stay here again. The grounds are small and well-kept and if you sit outside awhile you can pickup on the constant care and the upgrading that is currently going on. We had Casita number 5 which we grew to love. The room itself was spacious and clean. I wouldn't decribe it as modern, but certainly very functional. The bed was extremely confortable and we really enjoyed having our own kitchen. After a quick run to the food store we were able to stock up some breakfast/coffee/snacks and enjoyed sitting on our private patio every morning drinking our coffee and chilling while planning our day or having a good afternoon cocktail or three before heading out for the evening. The beach was a short quick walk across the street and can be reached in a matter of minutes. We also rented a car for 4 of the days and enjoyed setting out on a different direction every day to fully enjoy the island. On Thursday they had a reception at the main gazebo with some complimentary drinks and snacks. Was enjoyable to meet some of the other guests and the staff. Janine in particular was very helpful and friendly and she shared with us their blueprint of renovations currently beginning. Would love to come back afterwards to see the improvements! If you like a relaxing property, yet close to the hustle and bustle of the Hi Rise area, this is the place for you!

Room Tip: We were in Casita 5 and loved the location, we used the patio often!

I'm a bit late in my review, but wanted to give it none-the-less. We stayed in mid-November and could not have been happier. Spacious casitas, extremely clean and well cared for, beautiful grounds, and genuinely friendly service. It is very conveniently located to the beach, restaurants, etc. The buses for getting around the island are just 5 minutes away. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Casita #8 was a big 2 bedroom. Loved it!

There's a reason this place has 40 very good 80 excellent ratings and only 3 poor (two star) ratings. Stop looking now -- these are the ratings and this is the place if you want the best of both worlds. Walk north for miles on the beach and you get the "real" Aruba -- stunning uncrowded beaches. Walk south and you get the other Hi rise Aruba for miles. This is the only place where you can have both local beach and tourist beach within a few hundred feet. Want relative tranquility? Ditch the chair, grab a cooler with ice and head north a few football fields. Want a cool Dutch girl to bring you breakfast, lunch and cold beers every 10 minutes? Go south just past Marriott and hang at Moomba -- chairs are free for Boardwalk folk. Want 24 hour room service with a caricature of the servile global underclass for much more money? Stay at a corporate hi rise anywhere in the Caribbean. Like I said, stop looking now and click it.

Just got back from a perfect 5-day stay at the Boardwalk in Aruba. This was the perfect option for us because we did not want to stay in an overcrowded high rise and fight for space on the beach each day. We rented a car and had the freedom to explore the island and check out all the different beaches and sights - from the popular Palm and Eagle beaches to the natural bridge, lighthouse, and more natural sights around the island.

The casitas here are a great value - we loved having a full kitchen to cook breakfast every morning, which we ate on our lovely shady porch while reading the newspaper provided each day. Then we used the cooler, towels and chairs that were available at the front desk to go on a new adventure each day. At night it was easy walking distance to the beach to watch the sunset and then to check out the many restaurants that were available within a short walk.

The casitas were perfect for our purposes and are clearly in the process of being upgraded as there are some items that look brand new and high end (for example the tvs) and a few things that could use a little upgrading still (the interior walls could use paint in some spots, the plumbing is old and the shower temperature fluctuates wildly if someone else is using water). Any minor inconveniences were definitely outweighed by the overall experience and comfort at the Boardwalk.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms are the best - they have good views, a good breeze and you don't hear your up...
