Riu palace was wonderful. I cannot find fault with anything. Very clean. Always something to do at the resort. Only ate at the buffet because it had something for everyone. We loved the 3 pm entertainment and games. Drinks were always good and strong. We would return.

We stayed in the Adults Only all inclusive. The entire staff were very friendly and seemed to go out of their way to make sure people were having fun. They are also very focused on cleaning and maintaining. We stayed in what appeared to be the older tower and it showed a little. Food was good for all inclusive. Only ate at one restaurant for dinner but did eat at the breakfast and lunch buffet everyday. Beach was crowded and it was very competitive to get shade seats. People started staking claims at 7:00 a.m.. Not the type of thing I like to do or worry about on vacation. Pool was fun and less competitive. Drinks were plentiful and easy to get. Bartenders were really good. Easy walk to some good off campus spots for drinks and dinner. If the all inclusive, crowded, competitive, cruise like vacation is for you, then the Riu is worth the stay. We checked out the Hyatt Regency down the street and it looked a lot nicer but can not comment on any services there.

Room Tip: I would try to stay in the newer sections.

Just returned from Aruba - our 7th trip there. It was a great trip as always and first time at the Riu. We really enjoyed the hotel, however, I have two issues. First is the restaurants. The food was good for an all-inclusive hotel, however, you cannot make a reservation. It's first come first serve and they give you a beeper to just wait. Our first night we wanted to try the Japanese restaurant - walked in at 8:15 pm and there were only three small tables of diners seated. We were told that they were 'resetting the tables' (although all were reset except one) and we'd have to take a beeper and wait as there were others ahead of us. Clearly they did not want additional diners that night, and so we were forced to eat the buffet - which wasn't bad, however, not what we wanted. The specialty restaurants are way too small for the size of the hotel, and are just there for a very small number of guests to enjoy. It's a tease to potential guests. The second issue is the pool entertainment. Don't mind the activities and music at the pool at all.... however, it goes on for hours... and is VERY loud. So loud that we could even hear it while siting on the shore of the beach. The staff seemed to yell into the microphone and the speakers where placed right on top people's chairs. They need a better set up - something that would still be fun but not take over the whole pool area all afternoon. If you are at the pool - you cannot get away from the noise. But overall we did enjoy the hotel.

We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary & decided on our daughters recommendations to try an all-inclusive,it turn out not to be for us.

We booked through Sunwing, that was the biggest mistake, awful everything about them, the biggest was not being told in advance that your were only allowed 5 kilos or 8 lbs in carry-on luggage, just a cash grab,we will never ever book through them again.

Rui Palace was a very nice hotel, setup for groups not couples.

The room was okay, the view outstanding, the pool was great but from Noon to 6pm deafening hip hop music that drove you to the beach to get away from it!The chatter by the Rec staff was moronic & gave me a headache.
To add to the noise factor was the garbage truck showing up at 4.30am every morning & backing in with beepers going crazy, woke me up like clock work, then at 6.30am,came back to put empty bin back, this was at the hotel next door the Rui Palace Antillas!

The restuarants were very nicely appointed,Krystal the French Restaurant was the best & had the best wine,no selection Red,White or Blush, every where else was Chilean wine that truly did not go with any of the food.

If you are on a package with a transfer,I would opt for a taxi & pay the $20.00,the driver on the bus must have mentioned we were staying at the hotel with the bambinos 20 times in a 20 minute journey.

In 9 days we had lovely interaction with the staff, all very pleasant but not one of them stood out,in contrast,we spent 5 days at the Hyatt Regency Kauai & could name 6 staff that went above & beyond.

I have been in the hotel business for over 35 years, was amazed we never saw one management personal at any point in time & no one made an effort to greet us or acknowledge our anniversary inspite of communicating with guest relation staff.

Aruba the island was amazing,truly paradise,weather was perfect,a beautiful breeze,played a round of golf on a great course,had a couple of dinners offsite(Flying Fishbone & Papimentos,both excellent)

We will go back but stay at the Hyatt Regency next time

Room Tip: Ask for king size bed in main tower, long hike to the 2 towers either side of the pool

Gorgeous pools, beautiful beach, attentive staff, great services (massage, salon staff), lovely rooms. Like all all-inclusive places, the pool area has afternoon entertainment that is very loud with revelers. (Many well-marinated & twice-baked! ) But places to go & things to do if that's not your style... ONE THING: If you want to go to one of the great restaurants at night, GET THERE EARLY! They are on a first come, first served basis. And they stop taking in new entries quickly.
