“Good food, Good Service”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

We were looking for a 5 star hotel actually but it was last minute so we settled for this one.
The room was average. We asked for Ocean view but we got a room facing the pool and partial view of the ocean, although when you were sitting on the patio you could see part of the ocean. We were on a main floor which I thought was too close to the public, but it turned out to be handy because we were close to everything. I was really counting on sitting on the balcony looking at the ocean and drinking a beer.
I was impressed with the food. There was 4 restaurants a la carte you could go to. But you had to reserve, you couldn't just go when it was convenient for you. The buffet was very good.
We book through Choice Reward was pretty good. Was through Sunquest and Thomas Cook Airlines. Very helpful. The trip was direct flight.
The people who advised us about the island being very safe, they were right. It is very safe, we rented a car and drove around went to different beaches.
It's very windy in Aruba. It helps with the heat. Where we were it was hard to swim in the ocean with the wind.
It was nice because there wasn't too many people, although there was still too many for me.
Everything was spread out, but they had a shuttle cart every 5 minutes or so.
Over all I'm not sure if I'd go back. I've been to Jamaica and find it prettier but not as safe.

About 2 weeks back from holiday in Aruba Divi All Inclusive. What a disappointment this turned out!
The idea was to have my honeymoon, however Akre did not bother to mention that there is a regalement of the Hotel that states that the Honeymoon package is valid only for people who are less than 30 days married, in our case it was 3 months. At reception were told "NO" and go arrange it with Arke. Reception is totally not interested in providing a good holiday time to guests. After 4 days of calling with travel agent we got the package 1 day before departure. Absolutely spoiled the whole idea of the honeymoon, when you feel you are begging for it, instead of the travel agent and hotel making something special out of it for you.
It looked as if hotel and travel agent did not communicate with each other at all! You hear from each of them 2 different stories, so annoying when you just want to enjoy a holiday and relax. The website of All Inclusive list promises more than you actually CANNOT get (like equipment for snorkelling).
I've red many comments about not enough shade and beds on the beach and this is really a big negative point for this resort. If you do not put your towel in the evening already you most probably will end up burning in the son. Make sure you take good son cream (50), sun is very strong, and nobody in hotel will care that you do not have place to sit and enjoy the beach and the holiday. You can sit at the bar. Do not expect service of drinks/snacks at swimming pool or on the beach as mentioned on the website, this does not exist, you'll need to go and get everything yourself, and it can end up quite some time walking in the burning sun. If you want to complain then security will tell you to wake up at 05:00 and "reserve" place under an umbrella! There are no rules!
Food is nothing special, Italian, Chinese, or grill on table, as if you are going on holiday to cook yourself (beware, if you come only with 2 people, personnel will sit other people to other table without even asking/mentioning something), buffet actually had the "best" food, however the whole week it did not change, eatable at best.
Make sure you have lots of 1 dollar bills, without tips service will be even worse, people are very tip-sensitive!
As the title said, never again! Aruba might be a "One Happy Island" but after visiting it this sounds more like a selling trick for tourists. This specific hotel by far did not live up to expectations.
Book another hotel!!!

The Divi Aruba All Inclusive was perfect-excellent service, great location, elegance without being stuffy. Stunning beach with a powdery white sand. Continental breakfast on the private porch in front of the room easy to take. A beautiful, Inn perfectly located with most of the accommodating poolside chalet style rooms. Had a perfect stay. Highly recommended.

This resort was a bit bigger and more spread out than we anticipated. But overall, it was a great week and we'd go back. Thi private studios and suites were especially nice. This is much nicer than the Barbados Divi.

this is our second trip to Aruba. Last year we stayed at the Tamarjin and had a great time, this year we stayed at the Divi. We love the facility and like to be able to bounce around the 3 properties (the shuttles are hard to catch they do need to improve that). The rooms at the Divi are more updated and we love the food and service at the Divi. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to help. The beach is absolutely beautiful and lots of room so you are not on top of all the other guests. We love the outdoor fresh air at the restaurants, the Red Parrot is our favorite but are all good. To eat at the restaurants you need to make reservations in advance and if you have a large group (we had 8) we had to be there when the reservationist opened. There are a lot of activities by the pool for kids but we prefer to stay on the beach. There were no activities on the beach so you were not bothered by anyone. While we were there we did the ATV tour of the island and had a great time. I don't recommend the ATV tour for anyone pregnant, with young children or with back problems as the "roads" are anything but smooth. We love the Divi resorts and will be going back!

Room Tip: We were in the garden view rooms in the 3 story building and we did have a distant view of the ocean...
