We are shortly to leave after a great 5 day break at Walpole House. In a lovely village between two great beaches - Blackpool and Slapton sands - with a great shop and nice pub within a 100 feet from your front door. as well as a good restaurant (The Laughing Monk again within 100 feet) House beautifully decorated and also very well equipped with cooking utensils, board games and children books to keep anyone occupied. Wifi connection also strong. If you are familiar with the area you vey well placed for Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Totnes and many others. We have an 18 month old daughter and it worked well for us.

Thank you for your review Leslie, thought we'd confirm for fellow travellers that every front facing room has a sea view, that's lounge, and two bedrooms. We will take on board your comments re our courtyard which to now has never had a negative view and look into, but is equipped with table chairs, plants and swept on weekly changeovers? We are glad you enjoyed the property and your holiday as do our many, many returning guests and why overall we have been blessed with a 4.1/2 star and rated 'Excellent'.

“Lovely House”

Stayed for a week in Walpole House: nice village great pub across the road Kings Arms smashing food. The house is on the main route along the coast so very busy! House had everything we needed. We had to laugh at the squeaky floorboards upstairs the quieter you tried to be the noiser it got! All in all a lovely house in a nice location

“A home away from home”

Beautiful, well equipped cottage with lovely views. Tastefully decorated and conveniently opposite the village shop and pub! As is common with older village properties no driveway/parking outside but plenty of options nearby.

Owners very helpful and quick to respond to communications. Can wholeheartedly recommend!

“Lovely short break at Warpole House”

We had a fantastic time during our short break at Warpole House in Strete. Andrea was so helpful and even sorted out some of our provisions for when we got there. Great location for Dartmouth and surrounding area and the house is charming and very homely.

A great time was had by all. Will defiantly be going back!
