“A hidden gem!”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

Rumah Bali exceeded our expectations, a fact emphasized even more once we went to a different hotel in Bali. The grounds are immaculate, our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. Our villa had it's own front and back porch (equipped with furniture), and it was steps away from the pool. Everything was well-maintained, yet modern. The staff was friendly, easily accessible, and very gracious.

And now: an entire paragraph for the breakfast alone. Rumah Bali's breakfast is AMAZING. No breakfast that we will have from this point on (bought or homemade) will even come close to the quality, variety, and presentation. Of the three choices available-American, Heathly, and Balinese-we usually had the Balinese. It was delicious. It was beautiful. The fact that it was served on our own front porch (at a time specified by us!) made this even more decadent. Rumah Bali, thank you for spoiling us. Any other hotel we visit hereafter will sulk in your shadow.

The only negative? It's location on Tanjung Benoa means that you will have to travel further to see and explore the more well-known sites of Bali (or pay a higher price for a tour because of its distance from pretty much everything). Just be aware when booking day trips from ANY hotel in Nusa Dua or Tanjung Benoa.

We started our trip around Bali in Rumah Bali and we were not sorry for choosing this hotel! We had a superior villa close to the pool. The room was spacious and we loved the bathroom that is partly outside. When arriving in the taxi, we did not expect to find such big and beautiful garden. It is a very peaceful environment there, which is contrast with the main street.
Staff is very friendly. The breakfast is the best we ever had (I did not find better breakfast in Bali). We would certainly go back!

It was our first time to Bali and we were with another family. The reception is a bit of a let down but the rest of the property more than makes up for that disappointment. We got the pool view adjescent villas with a small garden. The rooms were quite spacious and well kept with only half a roof over the bathroom - which was something we had never experienced before - but in no way was it not a private bathroom, as soom reviews had suggested. It has a door lock and no one can peep in while you are relaxing in the bath. The only hitch was sometimes bugs and frogs! - yes we experienced it twice during our stay can get in, could pay you a friendly visit! With kids - that was a problem for us, however the staff was quite helpful and prompt in getting these creatures out of our way.

The review would be incomplete without mentioning the highlight of the hotel - their breakfast! I have never seen such a huge breakfast being served at any hotel. I bet no single person can finish theirs. They have three options - Continental, American and Balinese. We tried all three during our stay and all were great. With so much variety - even the kids enjoyed a different stuff everyday - though their favourite was the pancakes.

The street outside is full of restaurants and we tried a different one each night. The Rumah bali restaurant (sister restaurant of the hotel) was a mixed bag. The day we landed, we had lunch there and it was totally awesome however on our last night we didnt enjoy the dinner as much - I guess our expactions were too high this time.

A small suggestion would be to light up the pathway leading to the villas better as at night it get quite creepy when you can only hear the crickets and not see too much ahead. Our kids even wrote a story each on - The Creepy Woods of Rumah Bali! once we returned. All in all an excellent stay and would recommend everyone who's in Bali for a bit of R&R.

We stayed in this BB with friend couple of ours.We stayed on the 2.floor room facing the lovely swimming pool.Room was spacious, very clean and full of light.Bathroom was very nice and balcony was big and had table & chairs & sunbed. Our friends stayed at downstairs, it was great as well with the outdoor bathroom.Breakfasts were lovely,3 different set options, that were served to our own balcony each morning without any extra costs; what a charming way of starting the day.
Rumah Bali has a very relaxing atmosphere, the gardens are beautiful and well taken care of.
When you stay inside the hotel area, you feel like you are in the middle of the tropics. But when you go outside of it, the streets are quite busy and we didn't find any outstanding restaurant from the area either, many ok ones though. Beach is very close, 5 min walk.
So Rumah Bali has managed to make the premises very charming. We stayed in November 2011 and that time room costed 62 US dollars, which was an awesome deal.
The service was pleasant and friendly by all of the staff, they made us feel very welcome.

It is a great place to stay for a few nights and then continue towards Ubud or some other area.
We did't find the Tanjungbenoa or Nusa Dua area so exiting, we liked Ubud and northern parts of the island much more.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms were maybe a bit nicer than downstairs, but downstairs ones had the outdoor bathr...

Beautiful hotel complex, full of tropical green, small swimming pools in front of your own villa, very clean and comfy. Amazing breakfast in restaurant, and very hospitable and helpful staff.
Very close to the beach, but ambience of the garden was so wonderfull that we stayed mostly in our villa's garden and small nice swimmingpool, if not travelling or sightseeing:-) Close to our garden was nice pond with water turtles family:-)) What's more interesitnig is open space bathroom with small closed garden instead of open window:-) It was great to take a shower embraced by the sunlight and birds tweets. Great for families with children, friends and couples, looking for romantic rest.
