We decided to treat ourselves to a meal and booked a table at 7pm on the Thursday evening. I can honestly say it was one of the worst meals I have had. After 40 minutes of waiting my son was told his dish was not now available. By 8.30pm my young daughter was crying and saying she wanted to leave as still no food. Staff obviously all very stretched and food luke warm and very mediocre. Would not return.

I was looking forward to visiting now it's been refurbished. I can honestly say I preferred to old crown.. it was very expensive with no atmosphere. The staff weren't very welcoming at all and it took ages to even get to the bar let alone get served.. which is such a shame as I loved it here before. Don't think we'll be back again

Thank you for taking time to write your review. As you can appreciate the weather was horrible this weekend and with a lot of people around they took refuge in the Crown, of course this meant that we were very busy. we compare our prices with the other businesses nearby and we have found that we are similar to them.

Hope to see you later in the year when the weather warms up and our 2 outside bars are both open one with a stunning view to the lake with the mountains beyond and one along side the beautiful river.

best wishes

Syaying at a near by caravan park we decided to call for dinner. The food and service were lovely, nice portion sizes and well presented. However the drinks were quite pricey and charged 85p for a tiney dash of lemonade. Also deserts are on the expensive side and the cheese board was very disapointing with only 3 types of cheese and some out of date grapes for £7.50. Would visit again but would stick to the mains.

Thank you for your review. The new menu starts next week and runs through the summer.
some of our dishes are slightly more expensive and that is because everything is cooked from fresh. No freezers and no microwaves just real chefs and proper cooking.
hope to see you again in the near future.

Great staff, great setting by the river, can get busy with unruly kids by the river.
The food is on point, the staff are great, it does get busy but it’s a popular place that is worth a visit.

Thank you for your lovely review.
For anybody who has an allergy to children we are turning the top terrace into a kid free zone this summer. so you can enjoy the stunning views with table service surrounded by grown ups. we will also have a cocktail menu to chose from and jugs of pimms on the go. Just hoping for a bit of good weather to make the magic happen.

dear route66grimsby,
Thank you for taking the time to review us on trip advisor.
We are sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us when you visited. We have table service not bar service which is not reflected in your review.
If you ever to come back to us at the crown please take a table and you will attended to there.
We do regular checks at the other businesses in the village and our prices are comparable.
Thank you
pete
