My best friend and I passed through for 3 nights at Villa Medicea di Lilliano, and it was incredible at every turn. The staff is incredible (we had several drop-by's for coffee throughout our visit with Eric), the wine tour was amazing and the accommodations were incredible. From our villa, you could see down to Florence and the Duomo in one direction and off into the Tuscan countryside from another. Truly breathtaking. We brought a car with us, and parking on-site was easy. It is a bit of a climb up into the hills to get there, so probably best to arrive during the daylight if possible, just for the initial arrival.
We also took a taxi down into Florence from the property, which I couldn't recommend more. A quick 15/20 minutes and about 25 euros - completely worth it, in my opinion.
If possible, try to get a cellar tour and tasting with Monica; she's the best! The family who owns this estate is completely wonderful (we met one of them-Diletta-and she was lovely), and the history behind the vill and its association with Florence is terribly interesting. Go and stay for a week, and for Heaven's sake, bring friends!More
