“Charming in many ways”
Reviewed 5 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

A charming cottage with original features located close to the Mere and the Shropshire Union Canal, and a few minutes walk from all local amenities. The cottage was spotless and well equipped. A lovely friendly town, very green and well kept. Cottage owners were most helpful. Ideal location for exploring Ironbridge, Shrewsbury and Chirk Castle.

“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 25 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We rented the cottage for a week and were very pleased with our choice. The cottage was clean and comfortable with a pretty garden which we were able to use as we were fortunate that we had good weather. Simon and Jules were very helpful but also not intrusive at all but you knew they were around if you needed them. On arrival they had left us some fresh eggs from their chickens and flowers on the table which was a nice touch.
We would highly recommend this cottage as location wise it is perfect for exploring this lovely part of England

“A RURAL IDYLL FROM FORGOTTEN TIMES”
Reviewed 12 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Come to Ellesmere and step back in time when you walk through the door of Apple Tree Cottage into the kitchen with its welcoming range. Look a little more closely and you find a well-furbished kitchen with fresh eggs and flowers, comfortable living room overlooking the garden. Upstairs there is a romantic king-size bedroom and a twin plus new bath room. By the way this house has a secret a hidden staircase see if you can find it and then in the evening relax with a beer in the sitting room and look at the apple tree.

“Sweet, cosy cottage in an excellent location.”
Reviewed 3 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This little cottage is in an excellent location close to all the walks, meres and amenities in Ellesmere. Its only 40 minutes drive to catch the Park and Ride into Chester and 40 minutes the other way brings you to all the Ironbridge Museums.
The cottage is clean and cosy. The owners (who live next door) are thoughtful and welcoming.

We agree with previous reviewers that a few more items (plates, glasses) would be helpful.

“Great cottage in a fantastic location”
Reviewed 17 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Simon and Jude were incredibly helpful from the start and were amazingly friendly. They got the balance just right of making sure we knew they were there if we needed them, but didn't interfere at all.

The cottage is lovely - exposed beams, inglenook fireplace, ray burner cooker. It has obviously been recently decorated and was lovely and clean on arrival. It's situated a few minutes walk from the town, 5 minutes from the canal and 10 minutes from The Mere. Further afield, there's the North Wales countryside and its small towns, and bigger cities like Chester and its attractions.

In summary, it's a lovely holiday cottage in a great location
