Had no idea what to expect when we arrived at the Hualapai Ranch as we had only visited the south rim and National Park. Check in was not allowed until after 3PM but we could use our tickets to go to the points prior to check in. The ranch was amazing and had so much to offer for both kids and adults. We had dinner at the restaurant which consisted of either BBQ ribs or chicken and two sides. The kids had ice cream after at the saloon. We all enjoyed the magic show, the shooting gallery and the lassos lessons! Unfortunately the wagon ride was not open today, but it is complimentary with your stay. Breakfast is also complimentary for each guest and it was phenomenal! One of the highlights was s’mores by the campfire with a history of the Hualapai tribe and singing by a cowboy. The room was much better than I was thinking (I’ve stayed at some ‘rustic’ cabins in the Smoky Mountains). No refrigerator or microwave, but we didn’t need either. There is an individual AC unit in each cabin. We will most definitely return!

We actually missed the last tour to see the Grand Canyon and just drove 2 hours from Vegas...so decided to stay the night. Was actually a very peaceful and awesome night. No bells and whistles..just a clean room with nature by your side. Dinner and breakfast was delicious...and the campfire with a singing cowboy perfect. Everyone was friendly ... WiFi was very good.

We did not stay here but spent a pleasant hour in this mock up town that looked straight out of a western with jail, undertaker etc. The inevitable bar was a restaurant where we had a perfectly adequate if not lavish lunch. There are horses to pet and, at extra charge you can ride a carriage, get on a mechanical bucking bronco or have a mock gunfight. My son was rather taken aback by the entry to the restroom being labelled with a warning to beware of rattlesnakes. I suspect this may have been for effect but the warning about snakes at the edge of the property I am certain is very true.

We booked for two nights with a Legacy ticket is good for the Skywalk ticket, night stay, a hot breakfast the next morning, as well a night time activity with the Cowboys with a fire and s’mores. The additional night cost us $100. We got through all that was available on our first day. That night we had a strange sewer smell in the room. The water from the sink was brown. We also had two flys in the room that bothers us all night. There was no swatted or spray in the room.

We decided not to stay the second night. We called the front desk and got out of the room before checkout. We told the girl at the front desk about the condition of the room and asked if we could get a refund for the second night. She asked the manager who made a phone call and told us no refunds.

We could not recommend the Hualapai Ranch.

You cannot stay here without a tour pass, as the lodges are part of Hualapai Ranch. We booked way in advance expecting a crowd but there were empty rooms - possibly due to kids recently returning to school. Another couple got a cheaper day-of rate. This would be a risk when tourism is high. Anyway, these are duplex styled buildings in a single row. Either there was no one staying next to us, they were eerily quiet, or the sound proofing is decent. The room is typical hotel sized but not with amenities of comfort like refrigerators, TVs, or microwaves. If these are important to you, do not stay in a lodge. Stay further away in a hotel. Another plus is you can check in here without going to the main tourist entrance, and catch the shuttle from there as it is the first stop. You miss out on the initial hustle and bustle. The room was clean, staff super friendly, you get a gift store "trading post" discount, and breakfast is included for all overnight guests. The lodge has an air conditioning unit but still it got uncomfortably hot overnight, unsure why, did not bother to check as we only stayed one night. The free breakfast option is limited but cooked to order. My pancakes were huge and delicious, just wished there was more bacon. We had no problems during our stay.
